Kos should take it, and he is nowhere near the boring fighter he is thought of. Sucks for Thiago, he probably would have beaten Diego
Yeah, good luck with that. When I look at the ground games seen in Kos/Lytle and Lytle/Hughes and Hughes/Alves, it seems that apart from being better able to get guys to the ground, Kos is better at beating the crap out of them when he gets them there. He's nowhere near as good at subs of course, but he went through Lytel like he was the corpse of a ten year old. It won't be that easy with Alves, but that's what it'll look like IMO. By the way, anyone know the odds of Alves making 170?
I'm picking Kos. And I would've picked Diego too. I don't know, I just don't think Alves is all that. That's just my opinion.
Koscheck has the explosive measure necessary to get Alves to the ground, keep him there and the submission defense to keep Alves from getting out of his top control.
It's not the "walking around weight" that bothers me, it's the fact that for what was BY FAR the biggest fight of his life he was FOUR pounds over! I don't know that he CAN make it that low. He has an awful lot of muscle and never looks close to the same size as other 170 pounders.
I'm going with Koscheck. He's got far superior wrestling, and his game is constantly evolving. He will be able to do what Hughes wasn't.
Well anyway I guess we look at it, I am pretty sure there is giong to be some major Ground N' Pound going on
