He's a big guy for 140 pounds, he says he moving up next how well does he do at 147 against the top 10?
Based on last 2 fights, he will struggle at 147 IMO - looks like his wars with Prograis & Ramirez took something vital out of hime - or maybe he partied too hard after getting undisputed. That, coupled with parting company with Shane McGuigan has seen Taylor regress and not show the form, IQ and footwork he built is P4P reputation on. It might have been different if he had went straight up to 147 after Ramirez, and acclimitised himself to the class, but think his body is letting him down now, after successive injuries and less than stellar showings. Lopez had him in trouble a couple of times last night - that does not bode well for the likes of Ennis or Ortiz, let alone Crawford or Spence
He can't beat the top 10 guys there for example a guy like stanionis would beat the **** out him. There's a reason why he didn't move up sooner.
I think his body is shot, especially his leg thats been injured before. I doubt he'll do well against the best
He fights at 147 it better not be against top level fighters . I shudder to think what Boots Ennis would do to him.
I’m surprised he has that many KO’s on his record, he looked really weak. Can’t see him doing much at 147, it’s a tougher division.
That was my thought as well, boy he looks weak. Did he have trouble making weight? he looked like a drained fighter.
18 months out was way too long ultimately. Might have a couple of decent paydays in him but he's firmly on the down slope.
Taylor got spanked by Catteral. End of story. These fighters that lie to themselves and the camera too after a historic robbery get exposed more often than not. Taylor again loses focus when the fight goes wrong for him. From round 3-4 with Teo this time. He made no use of his height and range against Lopez, falling over his punches staying right in front of Lopez. Couldn't even feint off the line and got spanked again. Ben Davidson will ruin a fighter or two before its over but Taylor's obvious flaws with top caliber fighters seem beyond him to fix as his new trainer tried early to tell him what he should do, feint and double, and he carried on to look like he didn't belong. Everything from is footwork on up was a wreck. 16 months off? Ok. But at 147 he gets owned too sooner than later. Age and IQ worked on his way up and now the thinking has him lost. A "big" fight or two at 147 lets everyone gets paid if he can take another spanking.
