JT is P4P#5, undisputed champion, and has beaten five world champions in just 18 fights

He unified an entire division before everyone else in the P4P top 10 sans Loma, Usyk, Monster Inoue and Ioka had even won a single world title (I'll have to double check later to make sure)

His learning curve has been incredibly steep

With the exception of the aforementioned did any of the others actually beat anyone world class or of note in their first 18 fights

He unified an entire division and became P4P#5 in 18 fights

Who were they fighting in their 9-18th fights?

Not much buzz about the fight this weekend because it's a meh matchup.
The rest of the world doesn't care about the Scotland vs England thing, they all look the same to us. Pale, cranky and drunk.

But otherwise he's given props here all the time an he deserves them.

No one really knows Catterall outside of GB and he's flown under the casual's radar over here in the Land of Warriors too. But Catterall has reputation for being an excellent gym fighter and has sparred the likes of Floyd and Clenelo amongst others. Trust me, bravado aside, JT respects and rates Catterall and those sparring rumours would've found their way to his ears too.

Taylor's former stablemate Carlos Frampton says that Catterall is one of the best fighters he's seen in the gym and that he along with Taylor are two of the only fighters he would hang around to watch sparring (not each other).

I hope Taylor remains at 140. I don't like the division historically, but I think his chances of remaining elite are better if he stays there. There's always the Prograis rematch and Lopez, Haney, Davis, and even Garcia will occupy the division soon, so he will have choices. I think moving up and contending with Crawford is a step too far. Maybe he can fit in after Spence and Crawford settle matters, but we will have to see how the new wave of talents like Ennis, Ortiz, Stanionis, etc. develop. I would, however, love to see him fight Crawford if Terence beats Spence for all of the marbles.

we are talking about the same crawford that would put taylor in a long term coma. Yes. I highly doubt any single person in this forum would put all his savings on taylor if he fights crawford. Not a single one. You know why? because we all know the result of this fight. And yes, the same spence that would deliver the beating of his life to taylor. Yes, we are talking about him too.

"It's not a "trash" division. It's actually loaded with talent, especially with some guys from 135 moving up soon."

I'm talking in present tense. When they move up, we will see. Today, matias is ranked number four in the ring magazine. Guys like zepeda (who lost to terry "the bum" flanagan and nothing in this earth would convince me that flanagan is anything close to a top fighter, and no excuses, please, there are levels in this sport, no way an elite fighter loses to flanagan, no freaking way, never, no excuses shoulder or no shoulder), or "negative ring IQ" matías and the like of those are the "talent" in this division.

140 is utter trash. It was when crawford cleaned it up, and it is still now too. I didnt spend so much time complaining about crawford needing to start fighting top oposition to suddenly say that those mediocre fighters that crawford was destroying are now magically worth for ****. They were mediocre then, they continue to be mediocre now.

I'm looking forward to watching taylor fighting elite level of oposition, though. Man, and if he wins, then I will give him his due props. But in the meantime I insist that saying that he's p4p worhty because he gathered some belts in a trash division and got a SD vs prograis at home... no. I'm not in that train. Already.

Cateral, obviously, will not change my mind. People in this forum would burn crawford alive fought he the likes of cateral, btw. Still, the same people who defend that taylor is p4p say that crawford needs to step up. Ridiculous.

I know my opinion is an unpopular opinion. I dont care though. "We need everything to make a world" they say while they eat cheese in france.

I'm surprised myself that Taylor isn't as popular outside the UK like Fury. Tremendous fighter and he deserves the respect that he's getting. Guy will fight anyone.

He's only doing it because that's exactly what Teo's been doing when he beat Loma where he's saying that fighters have to EARN their way for a shot against him. And now that he got beat by Kambosos Taylor is throwing that same tactic right back at his face. Now Teo is the one that has to get back in line and earn his way to a shot against Taylor. Karma.

Terence should have been courting Ben Shalom and Sky Sports when he was in Britain and angling for a contract.

Imagine Taylor vs Crawford in the UK (after a few warm ups for both of them so the fans can develop a rapport with them).
