Let's stop any talk of prime Ricky Hatton or anyone else being greater/better. Taylor has far more overall abilty than any previous Brit at 140.

Hatton had a style that captured the publics interest. However Taylor is a superior boxer and rightfully would be considered elite which unfortunately for all his heart you cannot claim for Hatton.

I’d have Taylor yes. There are some great stylistic match ups though when you go through the years. Imagine Khan that beat Maidana against Taylor. I’d have Taylor grinding him down eventually but what a fight that would have been stylistically. England v Scotland too.

Taylor currently would of flattened Khan even at his peak imo.

Why stop there? He's clearly the greatest British boxer of all time and he's Scottish.

Notice how he held aloft a saltire and not the Union Jack?

Very difficult for him to top Berg, bearing in mind the relative quality of opposition. There probably aren't enough quality fighters at 140 for Taylor to build up a similar resume at that weight.

I don't like ranking active fighters, but there's a good change he ends up higher than Hatton when all is said and done.

If your going solely based on resume then right now its tough to argue Berg particularly with Taylor having only had 18 fights (despite having achieved so much within those 18 fights)

However if we start comparing based on ability, Taylor wipes the floor with Berg. The footage of each speaks volumes.

Berg was a different style of fighter. He beat a lot of superb and slick boxers.

Highly likely,he would be all over Khan by the mid-rounds,Khan will flap and start getting reckless then game over,

Not saying he didn't but he'd get taken apart.

Who knows. He'd be a force in any era, as would Taylor I assume.

Get beat its up for debate but " taken apart " is a bit strong for me, Berg mixed with and beat the likes of : Glick, Petrolle, Canzoneri, Cochrane, Kid Chocolate, Roderick, Tippy Larkin, etc, don't think Taylors resume is quite up to that standard, do you ? keep well.

I hear what you are saying but I'm simply going off the eye test on this one and I think the footage of each speaks volumes.

Kid Berg was clearly superb in his time hence the names on his resume but as we know sports evolve and in the case of boxing, fighters evolve.
