Prime 140 Taylor plays with Catterall and Lopez. Both those two are not that good.

Lopez should have at least drew against way smaller one armed Loma. And don’t forget his razor thin win/ arguable loss against Nakatani. Many had him losing the Sandor Martin fight. Lopez just isn’t very good, just athletic and fast

He had a target on Crawford and signed with Top Rank to make the unification with Ramirez leading to Crawford. Crawford left TR which squandered his opportunity and he just seems like he has lost the fighting motivation. Agree he should have stayed with Shane Mcguigan, he did him dirty leaving so soon after he beat Prograis.

Hard to say why he hasn't moved up. He said he struggled at the weight for the first fight with Catterall and was moving up instead of rematching him, only for him to refuse to move up for over a year, get stripped of most of the belts and then fight again 140 vs Lopez. So he might not be completely dead at the weight, he said he made weight fine of Lopez. He probably does struggle at the weight as he looks big at the weight and looks gaunt at the weigh ins but he can still clearly make weight. If he was truly struggling badly you'd think he'd have missed weight at some point in one of his more recent fights. It maybe that he was simply making an excuse for the Catterall performance.

But lets say he really is dead at the weight, then you'd think he'd move up. But he hasn't and he clearly must have reasons for that. I suspect he knows he's at his limit at 140. His style relies on him being bigger than his opponents to physically dominate them up close and at 147 he simply won't have the size or strength advantage he has at 140. So maybe he and his team think 140 is still his best option, better to be slightly drained at 140 than stylistically at a dead end at 147.

We won't really know unless he moves up, at 33 he's still has time to do that even if he loses to Catterall in the rematch.

Taylor hit the bottle after the Prograis fight and became more dependent on alcohol after the Catterall fight. He's absolutely shot to bits now, Catterall wins this fight however he wants.

Taylor was dead at the weight against Cat and Teo that's what happens when you don't live the life properly. Josh likes a drink and good food. I can't blame him for that we all love a bit of the good life but he should be at 147 especially now that he is older.
