I always thought Taylor was overrated.I actually got tremendous respect for him now.I can now see why he beat prograis and Ramirez. The man is huge and tougher than i gave him credit.A lot of guys that are tall for the weight and are complete bambi.Jaime Mcdonalds and Fundora fellow at middle weight.Taylor is tougher than i expected.Huge respect.I actually had Teo ktfo Taylor bad. This is similar or if not equivalents to Pac taking in Margarito.Moving up and fighting a massive fighter for the weight.
I noticed at the weigh-in he was severely weight-drained. He looked like he just got out of a Japanese WW II prisoner of war camp.
Pograis has the power to do it but lacks the counter punching skills to catch the faster Khan. Khan beats him at his own game, out speeds him, beating him to the punch and moving off and because of Pograis' static feet he would be unable to close the distance. Without the ability to counter punch he's just left hitting air. Khan wide UD.
I think the fight was close, 115-113 at best for Lopez. I must have been missing something. The commentators and the punch stats didn't seem to match what I was seeing, but 2 of the judges did.
Which 5 rds did Taylor win ? I've asked this question to VanBasten who argued too for 115-113 but he declined answering.
I always saw Talor as a glorified amateur using his southpaw stance, his ability to boil down at the weight, and his constant fouling as main weapons. And as a person, the guy is cringe and delusional.
Late to this. But just watched Taylor’s documentary on DAZN and started giggling when he said he will write his name in the record books and become an ATG in the sport hahahaha. What a melon! Got spanked in both his fights since then.
What top guys in WW? According to this forum Boots, Spence, and Crawford are moving up, Ortiz already has.
I don’t think you should be considered overrated if you had one of the best undisputed runs today. You don’t have to have some crazy flashy style to be a great fighter.
