I love Regis and would ,ike to see him get a rematch, but I also didn't think that match was all that controversial. It was close but clear 7-5, 8-4 type decision. That being said, I'd rather not see Prograis take another L, whereas I love seeing Lopez take L's.:sisi1

I think it was a razor close fight that could've gone either way but I have no problem with Taylor getting the nod. I'm a bigger teo fan than Regis but he has regressed as a fighter has no confidence looked horrible in his last fight and has done nothing to deserve this fight over Regis. Yes teo is the bigger name but Regis and Jack are more deserving. Taylor is a good and skilled fighter but for whatever reason he doesn't like to run back close fights. Maybe it's his ego maybe it's something else.

This. It was 7-5 or 8-4 Taylor anyone thinking it is closer than that has an agenda against Taylor

I don’t think the Catterall blip will be forgotten about even if he beats Lopez.

Fans can accept an off night where their guy loses, or in Taylor’s case wins via robbery, but they can’t accept the robbery whilst the beneficiary insults their intelligence and claims they were the deserved winner.

I used to be a big fan of Taylor during his run to undisputed. People said he was a bit of a d1ck at the time but I liked his aggression when he went in before those fights, thinking it was just part of the competitive edge that some top level fighters need to get them pumped and in their opponents heads.

That performance and aftermath v Catterall left a bad taste in my mouth, and although it wasn’t the most entertaining fight, and the Teo fight may gel better, I still rather see him run the fight back again to see if it was just an off night. Because most people were saying he’d win the rematch easy and KO Catterall but I’m not convinced about that.

It's a shame that Taylor seems to have lost a huge amount of respect from the boxing public because what he achieved was pretty phenomenal, not just for a British boxer but for anyone.. a naturally gifted talent with a fan friendly Style who won the Super Six and became Undisputed in just 18 pro fights, that's Usyk territory... & he should by rights stand alongside the likes of other british greats like Calzaghe, Froch, Benn, Fury etc .. I mean it's not like he had it easy.. Davies, Vasquez, Postol, Baranchyk, Prograis, Ramirez.. & more recently Caterall & now Lopez.. you have to respect that whichever way you cut it, but there's always going to be an asterisk until he rematches .. but to be honest I can't see it happening now so people should let it go, regardless of their feelings.. he needs to do a number on Lopez and put himself back on the map because he's genuinely an elite talent when he's on form and I want to see British Fighters do well.. I have a sneaking suspicion he's dead at the weight though and the Caterall fight highlighted it somewhat.. I do think Jack is a pretty good fighter himself though, I'm rooting for both of them to be honest at the minute because we have slim pickings lol

many fighters have an off night and a questionable decision.. it's not unusual but it's just the fact that he's been such a dick about it.. but his ego is bruised they are proud the Scots, and I don't think it sits well with him that the English upstart who no one gave a shot out foxed him... the UK has two talented Fighters in Taylor and Catterall, they should get behind them.. if he doesn't want the rematch there's not much anyone can do about it and stylistically it wasn't a pleasant fight anyway , I thought Caterall took it ya but it's not gunna be overturned & a rematch is unlikely , Taylor has outgrown 140.. that's why Lopez has a shot here & its intriguing

It was a close fight especially when you have 2 point deductions which made the fight even harder to score. I think Catterall definitely deserved the decision, but I thought Taylor comeback in the 2nd half of the fight to make it close. I'll give you my RBR scorecard if you want, and you can tell me what rounds you disagreed with.

    Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall

    1 Catterall
    2 Taylor
    3 Catterall
    4 Catterall
    5 Catterall
    6 Catterall
    7 Taylor
    8 Catterall 10-8 knockdown
    9 Taylor
    10 Taylor 10-8 point deduction
    11 9-9 point deduction
    12 Taylor

    113-112 Catterall

This is the thing. We all seen him at the weigh in, and posting on social media saying he felt great, yet when you compared how he looked to the previous fight he looked gaunt and weak.

It’s also known that he walks around a good couple stone heavier than 140 and is very big for the weight.

Evidently he had a tough camp cutting weight last time, so naturally he should have moved up to the more lucrative 147 division after that fight. At least that’s what I thought the plan was, and would have looked forward to him challenging the likes of Crawford. He could even have brought Jack up to 147 in a rematch and cited the reason that he couldn’t safely make 140 anymore.

So it begs the question, why is he still hanging round at 140 like a bad smell?

He’s 32 years old and done everything there is to achieve in his division.

Surely the challenge of being a two weight champion and stepping up to the more prestigious Welterweight division outweighs the prize of defending his belt against Lopez. Excuse the pun.

He had an injury going into the fight which hampered him making weight. I think it was a knee injury. We know this because there was a BBC documentary following him during his preparation of the fight against Catterall. With that injury gone he should be able to make 140 fine.

Agreed....sorry, I thought you were talking about the Catterall fight. He definitely beat Prograis by a couple of rounds.

How can fulfilling your mandatory when your original opponent won't even be available possibly be called a duck? He's supposed to lose his title and then wait three months after getting fit in order to satisfy the demands of you lot?
