I'm glad they didn't do it again immediately but we're a few fights and years down the road so it makes sense. No reason it couldn't happen at 147 if that's what it takes.
Taylor has had the balls to step up and fight tough opposition from like his 10th fight onwards.....TTT aint afraid of no one
Prograis shouldn't get to jump the cue without earning it. Matias and Zepeda should be next up, and it seems like Lopez will get a shot too - although I'd rather he earned it at 140.
Crazy stat that isnt it....to think one of them is an undisputed champion with so few fights How many undefeated boxers has Benn matched up with? Taylor started doing that in like his 10th fight
I think the main reason that the mainstream isn't clamoring for that rematch is because they are not big names for them. Everyone wants to talk about Tank, Haney, Loma, Crawford, EJ. We all have been knowing who Prograis and Taylor were but in reality they have just got more popularity within the last year. Prograis has been staying hungry, he should beat another decent name and then scream for that rematch.
It was in London, not Scotland But i'd like to see Taylor and Prograis go again @147 One thing you might consider is Regis has hardly been active in chasing a rematch v Josh though
Split decision, at home. One of the judges 117-112 At least I hope prograis got a good amount of money for selling his belt.
I'd like to see it because the first fight was bitterly contested, a great fight and close However, no one starts barking orders or issuing ultimatums to a Brit Level warrior on Serge's watch JT is The King and he doesn't have to do anything. The King does what he wants to He's the current P4P #5 and has unified and entire division in just 18 fights and he annexed belts #3 and #4 in JCR's backyard prime Clint style circa '64-'66 and even though it was a unification match up for all the marbles the ref and all three judges were from the US When Rougarou fought JT in god's own country England all three of the judges were from neutral locations even though only two belts were on the line and it would've been the same if it was only one because that's how we roll over here And JT actually made his pro debut in the US and fought over there for his 6th and 8th fights respectively too, the later of which should count as three fights because he beat the crap out of both Shawn Porter and Ugas in the gym during preparation for that one when only a mere seven fight novice.
Josh Taylor is a very good fighter who has exceeded my expectations. He has fought one good fighter, no great fighters and another 2 decent/ok fighters. I'd like to see him in the ring against the only relatively top shelf fighter hes fought who took him life and death last time out.
Their fight was close, yes, but I'd like to see Prograis be more active in general. He's got a crowd pleasing style, an interesting personality, and a lot of big fights to make at 140 not named Taylor. He needs to assume that Josh took all the treasure and is moving on, because that's what did happen and will happen. Prograis is 33 and this fight once a year against lesser opposition life will only decay him. Just act like Taylor is moving up and get busy at 140.
He's fought numerous very good fighters and got one of the best resumes in the game for an 18 fight novice
