While it is disappointing that the rematch ain't happening anytime soon, Taylors getting quite big for 140 and staying there can't be healthy.

He needs to have a fresh start at welterweight, and I'm sure he'll be successful because these guys are just keeping Taylors belts warm lets be real here, nobody at 147 is anything special. And when Taylor becomes undisputed by cleaning the division and beating both Crawford and Spence, he should give Catterall a shot at the belts because last time Jack was jobbed tbh

I'd be a big event and i think everyone would look forward to this. It could be a future ATG rivalry

IMO Taylor has stayed @140 for a reason and it wasn't purely the Catterall rematch - Boots and Ortiz are hard match ups for anyone @147, including Bud & Spence, plus there is Stan & Butaev bubbling under - and it remains to be seen whether Ugas fights again.

I'm sure Taylor could be competetive @147, but it's a stretch to think he can clean it out, especially given his recent inactivity and injury problems. IMO he should have went straight up after the Catterall fight, and gotten a couple of acclimitisation fights first before taking on anyone in the top 10.

I was hoping to have seen a Taylor / Prograis rematch @147 but doesn't look like that is likely now.
