Taylor wouldn't stop Burns inside 6 rounds that's for sure.

No doubt same comments about Lennox Lewis in his early fights.

Josh Taylor put in a very good performance,Ryan is a tough old pro and it was a good test for his 7th fight.his shot selection especially to the body was impressive as was his hand speed there are a lot of positives in his work.

A lot to work with and in good hands with a good team behind him he will have every opportunity to have a fine career, one to watch but world class tags get handed out far too quickly he needs to keep grounded he was certainly impressive against a fighter who at least gave him some rounds.

Nobody wins the 100 metres until they cross the winning line.

Plenty of hard work and opponents ahead but to say someone cannot do it based on that good performance on Friday is bizarre.

He certainly looks a far better prospect after 7 fights than Ogogo, Campbell and Gavin.

I thought he looked very good against Ryan and comes across as someone who lives the life and enjoys the hard work and training. He's got the skills for sure time will tell if he has the toughness and chin for world level!

What are you talking about? Lennox Lewis? It's just my opinion on Taylor, this is what these forums are about, expressing opinions, debating, learning and educating.

I haven't said I'm right and it's end of conversation, it's just an opinion and time will tell if I'm right or completely wrong.

But I have said similar about David Price when most British fans were saying he was going to end Wladimir and the rest of that division. Price is still fighting and might even get a world title shot so he could actually achieve what he set out to do but he won't dominate the HW division.

I said similar about Luke Campbell when some on here were absolutely sure he would win titles and dominate. He is nearly 30 and I believe will get destroyed at world level. I do not think his chin copes at the highest level.

And I said similar about Anthony Ogogo and after last night I think it's safe to say I'm right.

But I was wrong about Ricky Burns, I didn't think he would go on to be a 3 weight world champion and achieve what he has.

So basically, I get some things right and some things wrong, only time will tell.

Yeh your opinion is fair enough. At the end of the day taylor could fall short at world level, but in terms of ticking all the boxes of whats needed he does that easily, i think he has what it takes to be a world champ, whats the shortist route to a world title cos taylor must be near it.
