They've been talking this up a bit recently and Taylor is clearly interested in it because he probably sees it as a big money fight against someone who really isn't very good, so why wouldn't he. Benn seems tied up with Eubank. I think a lot of people would like to see Taylor retire because he's obviously well past it. Personally would not like to see him go in there and get beat off Connor Benn just because his legs are gone but he might still be able to do it. I do wonder if Eddy Hearn will see an opening there given Taylor's decline.

Taylor's only two options are to either retire or to stick around and pick the big money fights and probably lose. Who'd have predicted that when he had the four belts? Not a win since. Reading other members' posts here who follow him closely he seems to have a penchant for boozing and so on.

I'm not a fan of Benn but he is naturally bigger, has a good engine and has decent pop in his punches. At this stage of their respective careers that is probably enough to stop Taylor.

I used to like Taylor then he had a laugh at the England team. I wanted him to lose from there and he didn't disappoint me. Absolutely ruined himself. Couldn't stay off the drink and his trainer isn't working him hard enough. Cut corners and boxing will find you out. I look forward to his next fight in around 15 months time.

Connor loves faded shot to pieces former champions he's probably been on the phone to Hearn already.

He's Scottish, if he didn't laugh at the England team I'd be disappointed.

    Taylor is exactly Benn’s type.

Taylor is even more shot than Van Heerden or Algieri were. It would be a good win on paper and clearly Taylor now on a 4 fight losing streak isn’t too concerned about legacy. It’s all about the money baby for him.

Benn would beat him quite badly at this point and it would be horrible to watch. At welterweight Taylor looks to have a similar amount of power to Malignaggi so Benn would walk through him.

I was speaking to someone yesterday who’s into motorbikes/dirt bikes. He said Taylor is into them too. He said they go away for weekends etc and has seen JT at weekend meet ups bladdered a couple of weeks before a fight in the past.

At that time England had just lost the final against italy. it was a bit raw at the time. I was a big fan of him at the time and it felt like a kick in the nuts.

Although, how do you suppose Benn and his horrible defence would have dealt with Taylor in the first 3-4 rounds in the Ekow fight?

Scottish people have got no nuts left with the amount of nut kicking the English have dealt with Scottish football the way it is. Can't hold that against him.

Would be a good fight. I can see Benn edging it.

Timings perfect for Benn, beats him easily I reckon, through workrate alone. What a career, but Taylor is done.

I’ve never understood the sensitivity of some England fans to other ‘ Britons ‘ having a pop at the team. Are you really so desperate for Andy Murray’s support ?
