Then why is everyone always laughing at you... for all the wrong reasons?:eusa_dance:

Self awareness, it's a beautiful thing. Go looking for it, it's not that hard to find.

You could see his class in his early fights. He looked more seasoned and complete than most world champions even back then

    Round 1 Taylor 10-9
    Round 2 Taylor 10-9
    Round 3 Ramirez 10-9
    Round 4 Taylor 10-9
    Round 5 Ramirez 10-9
    Round 6 Taylor 10-8
    Round 7 Taylor 10-8
    Round 8 Taylor 10-9
    Round 9 Taylor 10-9
    Round 10 Taylor 10-9
    Round 11 Ramirez 10-9
    Round 12 Ramirez 10-9

    116-110 Taylor

I don't agree with the judges on this one. It was certainly competitive, but I had Taylor in a commandive lead and you have to be very gracious towards Ramirez to give him six rounds.

One of the tactics which were effective for Taylor was the clinch. Clever stuff from Taylor who would be in the more prolific long range, get a shot at long range and immediately fall in and prevent Ramirez from countering. Taylor's footwork was also very good, he managed to spin out of the pocket and there were instances where Ramirez tried to trap him against the ropes or in the corner, but most of the time Taylor glided outta the pocket to his right really smoothly.

Fantastic achievement by Josh Taylor. First British undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis and Taylor managed to beat Joshua and Fury in becoming an undisputed champ.

Jose Ramirez also deserves a lot of credit for his bravado after the two knockdowns and giving it his all. :chuck:

Also Teddy Atlas was right that Top Rank would try to rob Taylor and the score cards are an example of the shadiness.

Most definitely. I liked him for a while. Very good amateur then as a pro matched tough which has paid real dividends. I have been thinking for a while now people don’t realise just how good he is. I just wished he had been able to stay with Shane McGuigan who for me is arguably the best boxing trainer in the UK. That is not to take anything away from Davidson who the jury is still out on.

I had it 115-111. Ramirez played his part no doubt but Taylor proved he was the better man.

Taylor once again showing eliteness. You could actually be forgiven for failing to find a fault in his skills an attitude. Rubbing shoulders with the top p4p boys now no doubt

Given the referee and judges, I wonder if more people admit this **** goes on everywhere in boxing and isn’t assigned to one place/country.

I had it very similar - but the commentray team on Fite TV had Ramirez winning the first 4 rounds!! I Thought Taylor did the cleaner work in 1 and 2 even though there wer close, but I gave Ramirez 3 and Taylor 4( v close).

The only rounds I thought Ramirez won clearly were the last 2 where Josh was coasting (maybe a bit much for my liking)

I never saw the ESPN obviously, but read that Ward was very negative on Taylor as well - at least until the 2nd knockdown. But to be fair to Ward, he gave him decent respect after the fight. I wonder if that 2nd knockdown got Ward's grudging respect as it's very much out of his bag of tricks.

Well worth the £12.99 PPV cost. Was having a few beers at my mates house so we just went halves on the PPV. I wanna go to a Josh Taylor fight. Hopefully his next one is in Edinburgh and I can travel up and support him. He is a real talent like.

I was at an event but caught this at the start of the 3rd round.
Excellent fight from both guys yet some of the absolute worst ref from Kenny Ball -less:mad:

I gave Ramirez 3 rounds starting with the 3rd so not sure how or what the judges saw when we clearly had two KDs. Right guy wins but scorecards were borderline MAFIA pockets.

Kenny called for a break and to me it seemed he had a hand on each boxer when Josh unleashed that almost fatal uppercut for another KD.

I expected this to be close like a MD for Josh but not by cooking the scorecards.

Great fight and both guys earned their pay while Kenny almost screwed up with his lack of attention and a questionable long count for the challenger and that break spot

I rate McGuigan highly but to be fair to Davison he passed his test tonight

I don't think the cards were THAT bad, just the refereeing was horrendous and biased.
