Not saying he wins, but Taylor gives anybody problems with his style. Even a top class fighter like Garcia will find him a nightmare to fight. Taylor would be a very live underdog. And if he lost, so what, no shame in losing to Mikey Garcia. He's good enough that it won't harm his career.

It's been risky matchmaking and only seems clever because he's won so impressively..you can't say a 12 fight novice in the pro's fighting a seasoned amateur and pro who's only defeat came to the consensus p4p 1-2 in Crawford as clever?.its most certainly a risk.

Postol is definitely risky however he has also been very inactive for a while, the timing could be right. Crawford fight was almost 2 years ago and he has only had one fight since, is 34 years of age where it is unlikely he will be improving.
OD was a very good win in terms of beating a name, but Davies showed his true colours in that fight and showed many limitations, albeit Josh boxed superb.
Vasquez was a great learning fight, gave Taylor valuable rounds but the guy couldn't punch, had moved up in weight and was there for the taking.
The matchmaking has been clever. 140lbs is also not strong just now either.
Anyway best of luck to Taylor.

Postol is 1 with the wbc and Taylor is 2 the winner will get a shot at the world title. It's a good fight and the right fight.saying it's clever comes across as a bit of snide back handed compliment.

Good post. I have the same view points. I think Taylor is genuine world class but i think Garcia is a top 5-6 ppv, which is a big jump from normal world class.

Taylor at anything over Evens would be a max bet. Mikey Garcia is top quality and punches hard but in reality is a big 130lber. He came into the ring against Broner at 146lbs, you would have to expect Taylor to be in the mid 150's. Postol is being overlooked a tad based on the Crawford fight but if Taylor is as good as he has looked and been muted to be, he has to win

It may come across that way however I have no intention of being snide. I view this fight has been taken with careful thought on the basis of Postol being inactive. Still a hell of a risk to take after having only a dozen pro fights.

Taylor would be a stylistic nightmare for Mikey, who barely made it past Lipinets, call me crazy, but... I think Josh can take him, and by stoppage.
