Taylor for me - not just because im supporting my fellow Scot. Really think this boy can go far, big test but i reckon he will copme through it. Taylor by late stoppage.
I think Taylor wins a UD or perhaps force a late stoppage, I'm probably the only one out there but I don't see the "specialness" in OD that alot of people seem to see.
Interesting fight. One one hand Ohara Davies is winning fights easilly, has really long arms, awkward & has heavy hands but in his best win VS Scarpa I was disappointed he didn't show more. Didn't cut the ring off, didn't work the body against the taller thin frame, showed no real inside work, only worked at one pace & for someone with heavy hands not to trouble Scarpa it was a bit concerning as that is big legit win over a 140 fighter. Also, I've read people say Scarpa is better than anything Taylor fought & OD still won every round. Could a fan of OD or neutral break down for me why Scarpa is seen as superior to Dave Ryan, Waren Joubert or even Olvera? Scarpa's best win VS Hibbert. Martin Gethin stopped him recently & Dave Ryan beat him twice. His next best win was arguably Lyes Chaibi, he needed 12 rds & the score cards were 2,3 & 4 rds in Scarpa favour in Italy. Hardly a blow out. Taylor beat him in 2 rds in 4th Pro fight. Taylor better in every area but like most young pros, tools will be sharpened with experience but I see Davies as punchers chance only. If Taylor takes the jab away, cya!!! Surprised how many pick OD without any breakdown other than he's a character, he's good on twitter, he has charisma & star quality. That's great but it doesn't win fights. Can't wait for this one & hope to attend. Not saying Taylor is world class yet, only 9 pro fights but OD has huge flaws & even his good points he's sloppy as hell. Anybody got a decent breakdown of the fight?
Taylor and McGuigan mugged off by OD at the press conference. He's not promoting the fight because he has a fixed purse. Also JT came across badly at the head-to-head, he needs to relax a bit.
Hard to say for definite just now tho Imo he looks as if he's got a good chin possibly very good. When he does get caught it's usually only a single shot then he's able to evade anymore with good movement and blocking with the gloves. Excellent stamina and work rate as well so more than likely a good set of whiskers..no doubt Ohara will test it tho!!
Taylor looked agitated but he's obviously sick of all the stuff OD spews & wanted to make it clear he's never been ducking OD, who in fairness has clearly started to show it's a game to him, promote himself & the fight. It's never personal. I re watched a few of their fights recently & unless Taylor fights emotional, I can only see one winner. Can't wait though. I'm actually taking to OD now, even though Taylor is one of my favourites & I want him to win. I think I'll follow OD regardless now, he's different & does have raw talent.
i think OD power will make taylor gun-shy and keep him on the outside. OD will catch taylor at some point so then it get interesting. My issue with OD is he doesnt really set-up his offence well sometimes he can be telegraphed in his offence. I am also not sure who has the better chin (OD??). Either way i think the raw power of OD will be the difference in this fight as taylor will engage and that will be his downfall. In addition, its unknown how they both perform late in fights so its really a fascinating fight.
