How does this fight play out if Taylor moves up to 147?

It's much too early to offer any affirmative statement.

Indeed remains to be seen if Taylor is the same fighter at 140 that he once was.

Have to see Taylor at the weight. This would be a very bad first fight at the higher weight for anyone moving up. I thought he was fighting Teo. Is that fight not happening at 140?

To my knowledge he is, then should finally give Caterall his rematch before moving up next year.

Agreed! Jack won the first fight and got robbed. I like Taylor but calls it like a sees it. Hope he knocks that smirk off Teo’s cocky face and knocks Teo’s scumbag dad out as well. It would elevate Taylor to legend status in my boxing world.

Agreed that we need to see TTT in action there before making any declarative statements, but my initial leaning is The Mustang.

You like Taylor but you’re okay with his racist acts? So you only cry when white people are attacked but it’s no big deal if it’s another race huh? Funny thing is no one ever mentions Taylor’s racist act but seems like you and others always bring up what Haney said lmao, talk about double standards.

I wasn’t aware of his actions. That’s the truth. Will have to look. If he did or said something racist I’ll apply the same standard I apply to all fighters. For the record I gave B-Hop a break when he went racist because he’s too dumb to know better. Thanks for the alert.

UPDATE! I just checked and he verbally abused a Chinese bouncer at a club while drunk? Come on, he was obviously drunk and it’s not the same level as Haney’s sober statement about white boys. No excuse but you gotta cut a guy a little slack when he is drunk and enraged. I’m glad no one followed me around with a camera when I was young dumb and intoxicated. Come on.

I think Taylor fits well at 140, although he is a huge superlithweight. I dont know if he can compete at the same level at 147, and it isnt about his size. I think he hasnt that kind of skills to compete with the top welterweight. He is rough and usually like to fight inside or mid range, but with fighter that has the kind of natural power like Ortiz or Ennis (without mentioning Spence) he risks a lot. I think he wouldnt beat anyone of top 5 welter. I respect a lot his resume but i believe he would have a Hell of a night even with the actual Porter, even if he is retired. I see Taylor koed with everyone, although he is a warrior and has more than good chin.

Tricky, as Taylor is championship tested but not at Welter, whereas Ortiz is a Welter through and through but isn't championship tested (don't come at me with 'regular title' talk, please).

But my gut feeling is that Ortiz has the talent and mindset to really make it big, and also that Taylor moving up in weight would be giving away some of the advantages which have made him so successful at Light-Welter. On that basis I'd lean towards Ortiz, probably on a decision.

Ortiz has almost certainly fought for the last time at 147, so this fight is never happening.

But just for arguments sake, Vergil would have far too much firepower for Josh.

Both Ortiz and Boots would beat the Hell outta Taylor.
