Round 3 from the bell, Taylor being dirty as **** in the clinch using the crown of his head to butt Postol elbows and forearms to the chin of Postol to try and push him back and not a word from one of the 2 other refs that can give Lawrence Cole a run for his money as worst ever in Lewis (the other being Mora of course.)

I noticed it while he was giving the interview live (pointed it out back on page 23). I was thinking at the time if that was my fighter he wouldn't be giving an interview, he would be at hospital. Hopefully the ring side doctors had a good look and said it isn't anything to worry about.

To be honest, I'm not happy with the speed they're moving him at. I watched the Vasquez fight again the other day and even though Taylor won via stoppage against a very tough, experienced and awkward as hell opponent, I did spot some things he needs to work on. He has bundles of natural talent but he still needs more experience. He definitely would've won much more comfortably tonight had he had a few more fights against world class opponents under his belt. He had to dig deep tonight and that's what what pulled him through. Hopefully his eye is going to be OK going forward as it would be a terrible shame if he suffered an injury that serious so early into his career.

I would like to see how Crawford does against someone like Thurman or Porter. I know he’s a great fighter, but I’m just saying I’m not sold on him being top 2 or 3 P4P...I would probably have him around 6th to 8th. I just think Spence is going to be too strong for him. But maybe he will prove me wrong.

    Round 1 Postol 10-9
    Round 2 Taylor 1o-9
    Round 3 Postol 10-9
    Round 4 Postol 10-9
    Round 5 Postol 10-9
    Round 6 Taylor 10-9
    Round 7 Postol 10-9
    Round 8 Taylor 10-9
    Round 9 Taylor 10-9
    Round 10 Taylor 10-8
    Round 11 Taylor 10-9
    Round 12 Taylor 10-9

Taylor looking fresh as a daisy, comes out guns blazing rocking Postol with a left hooks, then shoeshines him and hurts him again, Postol comes back takes the middle, Taylor finishes strong landing two hard looping hooks to take the 12th.

    115-112 Taylor

I could see 116-111 as well.

But those judges were on crack. In no way shape or form was there any possible way to have a 119-108 scorecard, that judged should be barred for life.

Yeah I hope so too. I am a bit worried for him now though. Really hope it's nothing serious.

Taylor looks the real deal to me. Takes a good shot also.

Taylor, his youth, angles, speed and power made the difference, Matthysse was tailor made for Postol, Taylor is a better fit for him than Bud, but still too much. Josh may have scored a KO if he fought him back then, Postol had something to prove tonight and brought his A game, he may have come in cocky and lackadaisical like he did with Najmiddinov and paid for it.

No, I had no use for Postol because he seemed content to throw one lazy jab after another after getting dropped twice in the 5th. The rights that he was landing to the body of Taylor while moving forward weren't present against JT. Nor was there anything resembling a combination...nor any sense of urgency until maybe the last couple of rounds. People forget that he was tied with Crawford on the cards after four...so the fight was hardly out of reach in the second half. TC made an adjustment and started circile while in southpaw stance; and Postol made no effort to adjust in response. For all intents and purposes he was there to survive and made little attempt to do anything else once he got dropped. It takes two to make a boring fight, and Postol contributed more than his fair share against Crawford.

Had he shown the same sense of urgency here against Crawford, different story. But he didn't.

That's why I had no use for him that night.

Well he had something to prove tonight didn't he. And still didn't get the job done. He just lost to guy who's 13-0, who'd never fought an elite level talent, Crawford when they fought was 28-0, more than twice the number of fights, including several top level fighters. Crow all you want, it doesn't matter, Crawford's best win still got beaten by a newbie. Just because he didn't beat him by a wider margin, means nothing, it means styles make fights, and Postol was more suited for a fight like this than that one. You know that as well as I.

Postol got beaten by a younger, stronger, harder punching guy that was being touted as a p4p talent by some, and was acknowledged by all as a rising star and a legit contender in the division. But this time around, he showed more heart, grit, and desire to turn things around than he did against TC. Styles make fights...but so do fighters- and this version of Postol came to fight.

Props to him...and to Taylor for dealing with someone who was prepared to bring it this time around.
