Putting aside this weekend and with Taylor confirming he's moving up, who can he fight presuming he wants one before Crawford?

Top Rank don't really have many welterweights, they're mainly with PBC. Top Rank and Frank W have a good relationship so could he fight Avanesyan?

Kavaliauskas would also be a good start at 147.

Probably one of the 2 that you mentioned, or even both?

As you said though, TR don't really have any say on the WW division, especially if Crawford joins PBC. Unless Taylor also joins PBC, he could be left in no mans land.

Nelson suggested Brook as a potential opponent for Taylor next.

Can't see Brook agreeing to a 147 fight mate. Only got down to the 149 limit for Khan because it was a fight he desperately wanted.

Without doubt PBC have the current top Welters apart from Crawford but who knows where Crawford will be in next few weeks. Based on Taylors performance Saturday and cutting him as much slack as I can due to weight cut I don’t see him making much impact at the elite Welter pack. I would have expected someone who was weak due to weight cut to lack strength and endurance but it was Taylors application and former technique that was missing and that is a worry. I definitely think the Avanesyan fight if available would be a decent try out at 147Lb .

If Taylor thought Brook next at 149 it would prob be Sky PPV. This would mainly be due to Brook, which is weird considering how successful Taylor has been. Or he could publicly call out Conor Benn.

If the Crawford fight is there I'd say go for it..he could be waiting for years for a shot at any of the pbc welters.

This weekends "disaster" for Taylor could work out well for him going forward.

So far throughout his career he's look very dominant against some very good fighters but he was poor on Saturday night which may make some more inclined to fight him as he steps up into 147

Agree, he seems to relish being the underdog or having stuff against him.

    Prograis - underdog
    Ramirez - minimal TV coverage

Fought both like he had a point to prove.

I thought Taylor under estimated Catterall and thought he was going too blow him away after a few rounds. He seemed too struggle too adjust as the fight went on and the tactical grabbing.

I think he goes in as IBF number 1. Fights someone like Abdukakhorov or Crowley to become mandatory.

Thrn gets 35% of fight with Spence etc and IBF love to call a mando.

normal Sky show with a PPV straight i

Avanesyan would be great, hopefully see Dave go through him like a laxative.

If he had anything about him he’d box Catterall again at 140 to erase any doubts. He keeps saying he made the weight well but is ready to move on, well if he did make it well, the honourable thing to do is box again for the belts a LWW then move up with no question marks on his resume.
