Out with the old thing In with the new thing. Josh has impressive run while Crawford had a crappy run lately for years to be exact. It's been years since he's been undisputed too. Is it time for Josh to replace him in overall pound for pound list?

Trying to be balanced on this one:-

Crawford still is 2 weight champ, so his Undisputed is arguable a slightlye better achievement although no one will say it was in a better 140.
Crawford still really LOOKS to have all the tools, but his level of comp recently has not been great

    To quote Eddie Murphy:-

"What have you done for me lately?"

IMO P4P should always be a fairly recent thing for active lists, no more than 3 years (Covid does mess that up just now though)

And Crawford has done very little to be in the top 10 let alone top 5; he is still there because of how he has looked and his potential, but he has not got a signature fight against a HOF / ATG type to really cement just how good he really is.

The counter-argument by some people is that Prograis and Ramirez were actually never very good and Taylor is "basic as f*ck" :risas3:

The folks that think Brook and Khan were great P4P wins for Crawford are entitled to their opinion, but I don't rate those one iota - money for that snake Arum, not legacy for Bud.

Crawford, although having a weaker run holds a slight advantage being a 2 division champ.

Steady on. Crawford, I agree needs to fight the top top guys, like now. But across his whole body of work, he is above Josh atm. I have Josh number 3 P4P, with Crawford at the 2 and Canelo at 1.

I would like to watch Crawford vs Taylor at 147 to see who's better than who. This is the only way to find out who's better than who. I don't care how both World Champions became Undisputed at 140. Taylor should move up in weight to 147 since there are big fights waiting for him over there.

I think Brooke’s beats Prograis and Ramirez. But that might be due to size.

Crawford should be a three-weight World Champion. And I mean real Champion. Not some trinket-holder like the vast majority of these guys. Given that and given his obvious skill level (he would beat Prograis and Ramirez easier than Taylor), on top of the fact that Crawford would be a solid favorite over Taylor if they ever fought, Crawford should be above Taylor. Still, Crawford's title winning efforts can only count for so long. His competition just isn't there and he will be surpassed soon, or at least should be if he continues to fight this level of competition. Taylor is a pound-for-pounder now, however, so he has his foot in the door.

I suggest Crawford should cut to 140 lbs limit and fight vs Taylor at 140 lbs limit.
Also Crawford might be put on rehydration clause there. Fight in U.K with U.K ref of course.

That's impossible. I have never seen the bigger fighter goes down to fight the smaller fighter before. Have there been any in the boxing history?

Tbh, I'd not like to see Crawford try and boil down to 140 again any more than I'd like Taylor to try and boil down to 135 to face Lopez.

Not even sure that's possible for either of them.

IMO, until Taylor makes clear what he is going to do (and right now most likely is an 'easy' defence against Jack Catterall in Scotland, well desreved IMO), folks really shouldn't be pulling for that fight

Crawford should be targetting Spence, Porter, Ugas - even Ortiz (put the young whippersnapper in his place!)
Taylor even if he goes up should be targetting at least one, maybe 2 lower key fights at 147 to find his feet .

At that point, Crawford could well be looking at retirement as he will be pushing 36, but there will be Ortiz and Ennis at 147 for Taylor to rumble with, and possibly Prograis and Ramirez coming up as well.

    Why not?
Ofc it is not easy but if you may get all 4 most well known orgs belts if you won?

There had been cases when small HW trimmed down to CW and had some CW fight or large CW had fought at CW, later HW and later again at CW.

Bellew for example was CW champ, he beat Masternak and Makabu, get belt, then he decided that he needs to fight at HW, vacated CW belt and moved to HW, won 2 HW fights, then he told that he wants to fight vs Ali trophy winner and trimmed down a bit back till CW because then he had opportunity to win all belts Usyk then had, if they fought with HW limit for weight ins, belts had not been on line, fight cos this most likely also had not been so well sold rather than if there bunch with belts on line.

If Taylor trimmed down to 135 lbs fight for Lopez might not be lucrative: Taylor does have belts at 140 not 135 or 147.
If he theoretically will won Taylor at 135 lbs, he still will not get these 140 lbs belts.

3 division Champ. . Taylor may have better wins but P4P lists tend to favour guys who move through weight classes
