I think he's an excellent wee fighter, more than capable of winning a world title against the right opponent, my opinion Selby and Frampton a little to experienced just now
Surprised that it's Warrington and not Selby released from his contract given his ability to sell out Leeds. Makes sense that Frank would sign him but he's not exactly the stellar name yet that BT would be looking to showcase. That said, bar Sauerland and Cyclone he has no other options in the UK market.
The way I read the statement was matchroom offered him a deal and Warrington asked them for a better offer which matchroom decided against
Your post is boring and tedious to read. Not to mention wrong. If you find a boxer like j w boring maybe boxing is nt for you. You can't be much of a fan if that's how you feel. Find another sport.
It was probably more like, fr4nk made an offer and warrington asked eddie if he could compete with the offer, eddie replied with his best offer, which was no where near fr4nks. Lets not forget fr4nks buying a night here. Thats one of his nights covered, for what he has to deliver to BT. A good night at that. BT wil be impressed once they go to Leeds.
That's how I've read into it. I expect this to be the start of it as well. Common knowledge that unless your a Brook, AJ, Froch and now to an extent Bellew etc that you don't earn the 'good' money with Matchroom. Warren pays better and that's before he had BT behind him.
Warrington is good at most things but exceptional at nothing. That's a recipe which could lead to a version of a world title but also one which will see him come up short against any of the elite names of his division. I agree, power is not everything, but when a boxer can't punch they need another exceptional quality such as footwork or defence etc. His punch output can be impressive but I suspect when he faces better opposition his connection rate will suffer thus negating the number of punches he throws. Josh does not excel enough in terms of raw talent to make up for his lack of pop, and will therefore be found out when he steps up in class.
Why havent Fighters left and signed with Warren? Secondly no stories of fighters not being paid in a timely fashion from Matchroom.
I think if you are third or fourth down the pecking order in a weight division with Matchroom you'd certainly look at Frank and Cyclone if they get more dates as well. The BT deal looks great on paper but what cards are going to be exclusive to Boxnation? Will they be the big fights or the smaller hall shows? We really don't know yet.
You do here horror stories with not being paid by frank but tbf a lot guys have stuck with him and he has rep for payin more than eddie and that before by deal . Plus as posted above unless brook or bellew or aj Hearn doesn't seem completely committed. Can see y certain fighters would leave. Hopefully a few more do leave and mean be better quality cards overall on both channels which benefit us viewers. Don't see y its a bad thing
