Top performance by Warrington last night.

 

Didn't see this fight, but I can't see Warrington beating Selby.

There are levels in boxing, and Selby is a level above Warrington.

 

Yes it was, I've been a believer in him for 3 years now... I wish he could fined away to develop a Big Punch, not easy if its not natural, however he always performs great and is fit, durable and very skilled... plus he is a respectful and honest to goodness person.

I hope he goes all the way to a championship showdown.

I saw the fight and I'm inclined to agree with you, the difference in 'levels' between Selby and Warrington is the same as the difference in levels between Lomachenko and Selby.

 

I still really don't know how good Warrington is he looked quality vs Brunker, he might be able to beat or have a close fight with Selby. That being said, Brunker was poor, he was an easy target all night, he had no head movement, was too slow and didn't have the technical ability or ring craft to come close to winning a round. Warrington was better in every department.

He should fight some half decent "boxers" now before he fights Selby or any of the top guys to get some experience against fighters who aren't so easy to hit and make him think, but I suspect he'll be handled carefully until then by Hearn so he doesn't risk losing a big Elland road fight.

 

If I was Hearn I'd put him in with Hozumi Hasegawa, he looked a pretty good boxer against Kiko until he took a couple round the chops. It would be the best he's faced yet and good experience for the top guys.

 

I like Warrington - the technique and work rate. But I fear his lack of power will lead to problems. I can see "inferior" boxers walking through what little punishment Josh can deliver and steam-rolling him. Fights where, if Josh can make the final bell, he could get a decision, but if his movement isn't evasive enough he would go down in the later rounds.

 

Top performance from josh totally outclassed brunker. Im one of the few that feels josh will beat selby i think selby is rated slightly higher yhan what he is.
Would josh beat any of the other 3. Not a chance at this moment in time. Selbys a good fighter and he eats up come fwd pressure fighters who come in straight lines all day long and looks good doing it but aspects of his defence can be poor and he also starts to lose form as the rds get past half way.what selbz doesnt like is someone with real fast movement changing angles on him and messing with his escape routes.
Something josh will be able to do. If anyone doesnt agree that in the least this is now a competative fight for selby then they are either totally biased or trolling imo

 

Aye, true - not like Loma, Walters (if he stays in the division), Cruz, or Selby are merely come-forward brawlers! Still, I like Josh, perhaps overmuch, but I am from Yorkshire. In mitigation, he is young and still improving. I reckon he has a chance with some of the lesser lights - Velez, Mijares, maybe even Gradovich or even Garry Russel on home territory (worth watching if only because punch stat records might be broken!).
