Of interest, given Barrett was wobbled, what more would Kiko needed to have done to have won the round on your card?

Smaller man, you have reach and height advantages, try an uppercut Zelfa.

Kid Galahad, supposedly; a drug-cheat who lost to Warrington because he wouldn't punch.

Zelfa Barrett is god damn awful. They really need to match him carefully or he will get KTFO.

2-1 Martinez for me after 3, but you’d imagine he’ll slow in the next 3 rounds if he doesn’t do any more damage

    Round 1 Barrett 10-9
    Round 2 Barrett 10-9
    Round 3 Martinez 10-9, close

The pressure is becoming more intense, Barrett still trying to counter him off the backfoot and landed some nice ones, but Kiko closing the distance well and laded far more than Barrett. Close but Kiko nicked it.

If this keep on, Martinez is going to get a nice KO here.
He is picking off a lot of those body shots while landing more and more.
However Kiko better hope that he did enough situps. Some of those shots that get through are nasty.

    1. 10-9 Barrett
    2. 10-9 Martinez
    3. 10-9 Barrett, close

Martinez got a few clean shots, but Barrett had some nice ones too.

    **** that ****.

But yea, it is odd that he would rather fight this dude tonight than Galahad.
    But I don´t blame him.

Win more than just one exchange. Zelfa wasn't rocked badly enough. For what it's worth, I'm rooting for Kiko, so there's no pro-Zelfa bias here.

If any other fighter dropped his title to avoid a mandatory and then went and fought somebody like Lara he would get absolutely slaughtered.

Let's not pretend it's all part of some big plan and a smart move, it was a move to avoid a fight he didn't fancy.

Zelfa is always going to struggle with his lack of power and always staying on the ropes, this fight is looking similar to the ronnie clark fight.

No, you don't understand the procedure. Warrington did want to fight Xu in February for an unification bout but the IBF didn't allow that and said he has to fight Galahad next so he vacated the belt, took this one here as a "stay busy" fight and now wants to fight Russell Jr or Xu (most likely Xu) in April/May. I can understand Warrington here. A Galahad rematch is useless. Going for Xu or GRJ is a bigger thing in terms of creating a legacy.
