Josh Warrington vs. Mauricio Lara Acosta & Leigh Wood vs. Reece Mould RBR.

The whole "there was something wrong with Josh" commentary from Sky was nonsense. Warrington started with some pressure early, Lara answered back with some some stinging punches, a particularly spiteful uppercut and a good couple of body shots immediately got Warrington's attention . Josh is a tough fighter, but you could see in his eyes that he wasn't expecting Lara's power. Respect to Josh for continuing, but I think he was getting hurt much more than his body language suggested.

 

There always needs to be “something wrong” when the home fighter and favourite gets upset. Just like when Ruiz KO’d Joshua. Warrington probably struggled without the Leeds fans which is a reasonable assertion but it’s too easy for Warrington now to just claim something was wrong with him after the fight. Proper fighting men who follow the Eubank Warrior’s Code make no excuses.

Tbf lara looked good. Dangerous puncher. Think eddie,s needing to stop just looking at records before making fights. Guy was all wrong for josh.

Ref...Should have stopped that fight in the 4th. How hard is it to get a competant referee. You cant play games at boxing josh could have been seriously injured tonight...instead you,ve got biased refs thinking their doing the home town fighter a favour.

Josh probably at that difficult weight making stage they seem to hit about 30 onwards. Think he had the benefit of it against selby snd frampton...eventually through no real fault of their own the weight starts to tske its toll. Tbf to the mexican he was good as well...dangerous puncher. Capable of doing the same thing again to josh imo.

Barrett vs Kiko was a good fight. It’s a shame and a disgrace that the scorecards have ruined it. It was one beforehand which I thought Kiko would have too much for him but many wrote him off.

Warrington v Lara, what do I say? Egg all over his face first of all for vacating the belt for that. Secondly, how on earth was he not stopped earlier?!

Wow just catching up on it now.. what a night. Fair play to Lara, what a massive upset and what a win. I reckon he’ll be signing with Eddie shortly after that.. also don’t think Josh’s dad covered himself in glory letting that go as far as it did (as well as the ref obviously..) Gallagher would deservedly be getting pelters for that.
