The good people of Watford will need to rely on Shanny for boxing redemption now.

99% of the forum have been awaiting an announcement and we have one below

    https://www.channel4.com/press/news/biggest-all-star-line-revealed-fourth-series-celebrity-sas-who-dares-wins

Once she comes through celebrity SAS, she will be ready to take on the world.

Well I have a life but I thought AJ showed his backside with his postfight tantrum and I expressed it in some posts on a message board. It didn’t stop me from going to a concert, meeting a friend for lunch or detract me from work.

If sports don’t make us care, they’re pretty useless. If people didn’t care they wouldn’t watch, wouldn’t buy PPV or buy the streaming services that carry them — money which ultimately pays their purses in boxing.

Yes some people were mean to him (or posted mean comments about him) on social media. Same as millions over his championship career posted praise for him. It cuts both ways. He’s not the most dumped-upon athlete in history nor close to it.

He can always step away if it’s too much for him. He’s more than set for life. Naz did it and yes there’s some nasty comments here and there (and a ton of praise for his accomplishments too) but mostly once he retired people forgot about him. AJ could buy an island and never deal with the public again if it’s too much of a drain on him … or, you know, just get off Twitter and Instagram or whatever and ignore it all.

Or perhaps people simply got fed up with him being overhyped, and don't like how he behaves at times?

For once I'd kind of defend Joshua and I can't admit to being his biggest fan.

His rant was clearly borne of frustration, since the world was telling him "be more aggressive and you'll be OK". It didn't work and you can see why he'd be annoyed - boxing just isn't in his head.

But if he comes out of this with some actual aggresison, like he did in his early career with a smile on his face, people would quickly warm to that again. Less of the philosophy and trying to learn the trade - just get out there and fight the sub-Fury/Usyk/Wilder contenders building some momentum 3-4 times this coming year and get back to pre-Ruiz days. It might not work against Fury and Usyk but little does, and they won't be around for long anyway. And there's not much else coming through in behind them.

His actions were utterly embarrassing. They were self-indulgent (shock horror), ignorant and disrespectful.

Many people are frustrated every day in life, and with good reason, but they don't behave in such a pompous way with such little regard for others, especially in such a context.

What makes it funnier was that he had already began to do the whole fake virtue-signalling thing with the Ukraine flag. Obviously if he had won, he would have been the usual fake Joshua and many who don't know any better would have been heralding the humble hero. People's true character comes out in adversity, and let's be frank, this was hardly adversity. He had lost a boxing match and had been paid tens of millions.

He is a fake, just like his whole team around him. All idiots.

His conduct was a red face job for our Nation along with his performance in New York on 1 June 2019.

Thats not really the point tho. Pretty much in agreement with a lot of your post. In any walk of life you need to take the good with the bad.

What i m saying is responding to the bad doesnt make him a bad fella. People talking about it being a massive red flag...for what exactly. For the pressures of fame getting to him. Thats pretty much the truth of it.

Totally agree that sport should be about opinions....and you should care. But some people go too far with it. The guys been knocked out in front of the world. Hes now went on to lose 2 further fights and everyones telling him hes useless. Its pretty much the humbling a lot of people have been waiting on. Fair enough thats sport.

I m not a joshua fan myself. I,ve pretty much backed everyone to beat him...probably for the exact same reasons a lot of other people have. Just gets silly when boys like safin build him up to be the next jack the ripper. Silly stuff from a troubled mind is not far from the truth.

The reasons for joshuas embarrasing behaviour and actions are there to see....the pressures of fames played a big part of it as opposed to him being an evil fella or a fake as safin puts it. The truth is i,ve not met anyone who,s not been fake at some point in their life. No one can keep to the silly standards safin keeps.

Yeah to be clear I wasn’t really disagreeing with you and certainly wasn’t calling you out on your post, was just expounding on the theme with a few of my thoughts on the big picture of it.

I don’t think we’re far apart at all in how we see it.

    Cheers!

@bbjc Joshua is not the sharpest tool in the shed so a man like him having that much money and subsequent status and power is a sticky wicket. I don’t blame him entirely, as those earning from him are blowing smoke up his backside and giving him a false sense of importance. At the end of the day, he’s just a large man who punches people for a living. But the point is that when you dupe the public with your crap fights, crap products that you endorse that people would be better off without, you ought to expect criticism from those making you an obscenely rich man. He has to take most of the responsibility because he wasn’t forced into that situation, and it was so easily avoided. But a decade full of ego left him thinking he was smarter, more important and better than he was, and he ended up being a ridiculously sore loser. This after the fake virtue-signalling with the flag.
