As someone who went to Brook-Spence I have to say I wouldn’t recommend a stadium fight to anyone. And that was at a small stadium and I still didn’t really feel immersed in the fight. I imagine I’d hate the experience of watching a fight in a stadium as big as Wembley.

As for the whole ‘it does wonders for boxing’ narrative I have to agree that this is a bit of a myth. It probably is helping short term getting kids into it but this always happens when a sporting superstar comes along. AJ is popular with men and also women in this country because he looks aesthetically great. He plays the nice guy image and the women love it. My female friends will always ask me when he’s fighting next for example.

Also winning Olympic gold at his home olympics helped massively as well. Everyone knew who he was before he’d even turned pro.

Stadium fights are for casuals who spend half the night in toilets sniffing and then watch the main event on a big screen so they can say 'i was there'...

I dont get bragging about putting 100k people in a stadium when 80k wont really see a thing.....Look at us we can mug off 80 thousand casuals...yayyy

Parker is shyt*. Why do you think Hearn put him in their with Joshua ? Cos he saw Parker v Fury and then Parker v Joshua, he was a overhyped titleholder. He has no power and is a basic fighter. Whyte should win on points. You think Hearn would risk Whyte, one of his star fighters if he thinks he's going to lose.

We have seen confirmation that their is nothing special with Joseph. Your falling for the Hearn Hype again

Hearn hype? Wtf are you talking about, I’m one of the biggest Hearn critics on here and doubt almost everything that comes out of his mouth. I think Parker is way better than Whyte who lost to Chisora and failed to put Helenius away. A lot of people on the General section have Parker down to beat Whyte.

i agree with all that but i do have a feeling Whyte will beat Parker setting up the HUUUUUGE rematch..

    queue ---

Whyte was injured in first fight...
    AJ is lighter
Whyte is now a beast etc etc

This word 'NARRATIVE' has crept into boxing which Hearn loves...Hence a Bellew/Haye PPV etc

This is why i knew Povetkin was AJs next fight as soon as he appeared on a Hearn bill.

Show the casuals a fighter then 'build' the fight

It should be brought back in to schools, but for the right reasons and not for kids to have an excuse for a tear up.

Povetkin has stated he’s going to be on the undercard for April 13th.

    Joshua v Wilder
    Povetkin v Whyte?

Usyk possibly now he’s signed with matchroom?

Any of Whyte, Usyk or Ortiz against Povetkin would make for an excellent chief support act to the Main Event. That's considering that Wilders team will allow him to fight AJ, if he doesn't then a AJ vs Whyte and Povetkin vs Ortiz or Usyk would be very good.
