A boxer getting a TUE for Testosterone Replacement Therapy is patently news-worthy! The most heavily-muscled knockout artist apparently needing Testosterone Replacement Therapy would be beyond scandal.

It would naturally lead to the question if there has been anything underhand, and would lead to an analysis of his muscle growth over the years etc.

But just to pick up on something else: your last sentence on the above post is very precise and well-worded; how are you so familiar with process?

I googled it and checked the UKAD website.

Interesting. And did you Google how TUEs can be wrongly and unfairly used? How they have been used to give athletes an unfair advantage over others? Because that's the issue we're discussing here, not how the system is meant to work when it's not being abused ..

Obviously the system can be open to abuse, but it's the job of the anti-doping authorities to ensure that an unfair advantage isn't given.

For example, Jarrell Miller has accused Joshua of testosterone replacement therapy. According to WebMD, the purpose of testosterone replacement therapy is to increase someones testosterone levels from an abnormally low to a natural level. Therefore, a TUE should only be allowed for the dosage that would allow that. If the athlete then tries to gain an unfair advantage, for example, by using testosterone in higher doses to benefit, the elevated levels would show up in any drug testing, and they could still be banned. A TUE isn't a blanket allowance to use a substance to your hearts content.

Indeed, that is the purpose of Testosterone Replacement Therapy for your average person. Not for one of the strongest and most unusually muscle-bound boxers on the planet!

You're bending over backwards to defend one of the strongest boxers on the planet potentially getting a boost of testosterone.

I'll tell you now: the public and the press will not feel as accommodating as you if it turns out to be true.

I'm also delighted you've been googling so much! Keep it up! Maybe you'll be this persistent with regards to explaining how Joshua managed to add 20lbs of muscle in one year when he turned Pro!

I know testing is necessary and needs to be done, and it does keep fighters from using anything and everything under the sun, like they all did in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's. But the bottom line is testing facilities are always light years behind chemists. They are always futilely chasing the steroid industry. Testing will generally only catch the guys that don't know what they are doing and don't have the money or connections to have a personal chemist. I would venture to guess most elite level boxers, and most elite athletes in general, use steroids throughout their entire career. Sadly, it's been a necessary evil to compete at the top level and has been in most sports for decades. It is what it is, but clean athletes are few and far between.

There's nothing to defend, as there is nothing against the rules in medical treatment.

To be honest, others are much better placed in explaining how Joshua added weight, because there seem to be fans who can tell you exactly how much weight Joshua put on over specific time periods, his body fat percentage and all sorts of other details that I have no idea how to find.

I can tell you what Joshua weighed in at for each of his professional fights and that's only because I signed up to boxrec.

When Anthony Josuha gets busted or banned for PED's then i will give a ****. Rumours of a TUE and for what that exemption is for is without doubt worthy of a raised eye brow but im not in the habit of screaming JUICER to a Boxer until hes been caught juicing.

Do you think for one seconds that Joshua doesn't get tested just as much as the next guy, if no more???

He goes through two rounds of testing prior to fight night.

There you were before, going on WebMD and researching a bunch of stuff about TUEs and doping and testing, and coming here to summarise ..

But you suddenly can't find the motivation to do the same regarding his impossible acquisition of muscle mass post Olympics!

TUE are abused all the time. That is the whole essence of modern doping. Just ask Team Sky and their missing Jiffy bag. Why did Wiggins suddenly retire amidst that fiasco? Anyone defending the brits in this are high as ****.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...pic-gold-medal-sealsTeam-GBs-great-games.html

According to the above link Joshua weighed 17 stone at the 2012 Olympics. 17 stone is 238 pounds.

According to Boxrec, Joshua weighed 230.75 pounds for his professional debut.

You have been claiming that Joshua gained 20 pounds after the Olympics, so if we say the Daily Mail are wrong (I wouldn't be surprised), and you are wrong then you're claiming that Anthony Joshua weighed 210 pounds at the Olympics. That just doesn't seem right to me at all. Okolie looks like a stick figure, and he would weigh more than that.
