You are underselling him. Davison clearly does offer a lot technical knowledge to his boxers, and its probably his biggest selling point. Imagine a trainer who lets you do what you want, while also showing themselves to be really knowledgeable and teaching you interesting techniques.

Hes the new Virgil Hunter, but more of a yes man.

I think Wardley is a more likable personality, but deep down I don't think he respects Ben either; that's why he has no jab. A better trainer would've drilled the importance of a jab into him for years, but against Dubois he was telegraphing right hands all night.

I never used to mind Davison because he was learning his trade, but after Wardley against Dubois and the way Itauma fell off a cliff, I genuinely don't understand why anyone at the world level is seeking him out. Although I do think the quality of trainers has declined significantly over the last 30/40 years, from the likes of Futch, Benton, and Manny Steward to Boxercise, it's a microcosm of why the sport itself is on the decline overall.

Joshua reminds me of Amir Khan

Unteachable and running from trainer to trainer

Brilliant AJ. Tbf for this specific fight it actually makes five times more sense than it would if it was any other opponent. Then again, Usyk’s team probably know what Fury can and can’t do to a far deeper level than Davison. Nothing is confirmed though.

That’s true, and in wardleys case being so new to the game and the way he came into it-would he know what a good or bad trainer was?

Most of these guys could get someone in decent shape/on weight but when it comes to making crucial decisions at crucial times Davison has had some shockers
