Anthony gives obviously rehe****d, nice guy type interviews that are as transparent as Jones's used to be, the kind where they say the right things, but come across as genuine as a Rolex from Taiwan. Even when they fight there are similarities, even though Jones is a far more prodigious talent, he used to like ''accidentally'' sticking his fingers in an opponents eyes even more than Joshua likes to take full force power shots at a guy already down and therefore defenceless. Think it's fair to say that Dillian White's recent opinions on Anthony may not be a million miles away from the truth, and once Joshua completes this most recent walkover job and fights him, I'll be cheering pretty loudly for Dillian.
at least jon jones shows some realness in interviews from time to time. e.g the cormier fight. joshua just comes across as some kind of low IQ conman who thinks he's pulling an elaborate hoax by putting on his persona but it's as obvious as a fart in an elevator.
He obviously isn't 100% who we see in the media, but it is still the base of his personality. I've heard from people who know him very well how nice a bloke he is away from the cameras, sign anything for any fan, willing to talk to anyone and donates towards charity also. He might not be the nicest guy in the world but who cares? Tyson is a legend of the sport and wasn't a particularly nice bloke at all.
this is gonna be the norm and it will only get worse. Very rarely do you get "nice guys" in boxing thats why when you do actually get one like Ricky Burns pundits and promotors make a huge point of highlighting it. Were talking about guys who need to get into a certain zone to prepare to fight. Lets not foget their also training to make themselves as perfectly suited to inflicting damage and hurting another human being ..... the better he gets the more famous he becomes the the louder the haters will become. I just hope he lives up to the hype whether he is the sorta guy that gives to Oxfam doesnt bother me in the slightest !
as you said Tyson had an army of fans following him cos of his bad boy image. Haters will find a reason to hate
