Meng being Chinese had Chinese backing and the purse bid was then won by them to host the fight over there. Beterbiev has apparently declined to fight over there because of the treatment of Muslims which could mean he has to vacate. Meng is ranked 1, 2 is vacant and then 3 with the IBF is Buatsi so it looks like it could be Buatsi vs Meng for the vacant belt. This content is protected
Pity if Beterbiev drops a belt as I was hoping to see him go after all the belts and become undisputed champion. I think he's without a doubt the best in the division. But I won't criticise a man for having his principles. I've only seen Meng fight once and that was against Buglioni. I can't really remember how he looked, ability wise but I do remember it being an emphatic stoppage and he does have a decent KO %. Buatsi does look the real deal going by the eye test and would pick him to win, while admittedly not really knowing how good Meng is. I just think Buatsi looks good enough to justify the hype behind him so far. He's boxes beautifully at times and has that bit of spite in him as well which I like in a fighter. He's still yet to be properly tested though so I wouldn't get overly confident.

I think Buatsi beats him meng looks game but limited and buglioni looked like he was already done with the sport in that fight
Buatsi would have to go to China for the fight, who knows what kind of judges they would have over there
How does Buatsi compare to the other top LHWs in terms of size? Hard to guage properly only seeing him on telly, but to me he looks like a smaller LHW. Would that be right?
I think we’ve got a huge glass house when it comes to being concerned about other countries judges. I’m still seething with that Riakporhe v Massey fight.
