My Chinese Takeaway source informs me that the Chinese Boxing Association is not bent and would reel in the top men for the job - from anywhere in Birmingham Twerry Odonor, all the way from Scotland Fred Rice with the third man being from the Essex Matchroom office Mr Phony Lu Roll Hayers

    100%.

Which is also a major worry for Buatsi. Because of the way Beterbiev has gave it up, if Buatsi was to defeat Meng for a vacant title would the IBF “do the right thing” and install Beterbiev as mandatory? That’s the last thing Buatsi needs. He looks a top, top prospect but Beterbiev in the next 12 months or so would be far too soon.

Of all the orgs, the IBF feel like the ones that get it right most often - though that's still a rarity in itself. His reasoning for it would likely see him reinstated as a mandatory though it may not be immediate.

The IBF lost all credibility when they stripped Tyson Fury of his belt 10 days after beating Wlad in 2015.

Shocking as they would not have done the same to Wlad if he won.

I mean, given he went AWOL for so long after it was actually an inevitable move in hindsight...

Either way, they stick to their own rules more than the other orgs. That isn't saying much though

The IBF stripping of the belt was long before Fury went off the rails. With hindsight, he could have fought Charles Martin an hour after the Wlad fight finished and knocked him out with a very short jab.

Buatsi should be all over this.

Would be an easy way of picking up a trinket, and give him bargaining power to make bigger fights.

Meng's record is horrendous. No idea how he got a number 2 ranking other than through corruption.

The countries with the most corrupt judging are the UK and US. No other countries comes close.

    What about Germany?

All countries are as bad as one another

Its human nature to do when you can get away with it i guess

Countries are definitely not as bad as each other. That is something a person from a bad country would say, to deflect from the fact their country is bad.

I did a little study of boxing robberies. The vast majority of them take place in the US and the UK. Germany is way behind those two.

I know the UK has an issue with score cards so your quite patronising theory of how id say something to deflect away from the issue is nonsense Sheriff

I’d fancy Buatsi to beat him comfortably.

Good on Beterbiev for standing up for his principles. What power do the IBF have to prevent someone fighting for their belt in a country based on principle?

Looks like this won’t be happening. The Chinese company who had won the purse bids have defaulted on the terms already so now Top Rank are in control of the bout.

Be interesting to see what route Buatsi goes down now as I’d assume his team would want to avoid Beterbiev!
