Joshua Buatsi vs. Marko Ćalić RBR

Tough nights work for Buatsi. Showed some grit to ride the rough spots to get the win.

I liked how he adapted and brought his right hand over to his left side to catch Calic's right hands with the open part of his glove and kept digging to the body to open up Calic's solid guard to land the head shots later in the fight.

But I didn't like how often he just stood there right in front of Calic with his gloves up and allowed Calic to just work him over at times. He needs to learn to just take a step back and take walk when he doesn't want to work and slow the pace down when he needs it. Simply staying in range will see him get beat when he steps up.

As for the ending I think Calic wanted out he kept looking at his corner. Eventually the corner realised he wanted no more and threw in the towel.

 

Yeah, I'm opinionated, but I genuinely didn't see his warning and then next thing I know I'm banned and I didn't get that nasty about it.

 

IB, genuinely, you can't also behave like your scoring is infallible and can't be judged by us mere non-staff mortals. I've probably boxed more than you so I know what I'm watching as well. I can also have a difference of opinion without getting banned over something innocuous. If I was being a **** I get it, but I wasn't and I feel genuinely wronged here.

 

Well, if they bet on the exact round they could make quite a bit of money, but I was joking, obviously. The stoppage just looked very premature to me and I really don't understand why the corner stopped it.

 

I think I would take Yarde over Buatsi. Standing in front of Yarde is dangerous.

 

Man my ban clearly had to do with me not being in lockstep over something as contentious as boxing... You can't expect agreement over a sport that subjective.

 

What were the actual cards?

 

Except I wasn't and you're now exaggerating because you were the one behaving like a pissed off teenager. I made a joke by the way when I asked if you were being paid by sky. You just weren't in the mood for it because I hurt your ego.

 

I like Bautsi.He was getting tested and respond more than well in my opinion. Calic was punished for daring to go lefty and it was over. But actually Calic held on at every Bautsi onslaught. So in my opinion he can't handle the fuselage of punches. I believe not many can take Bautsi shots he hits hard and in bunches.

 

It was terrible scoring in my opinion. I'm not allowed say that? Then my lord you're fragile. I was more watching how Buatsi didn't land much clean because Calic was blocking or moving out of range quickly for most of his shots. Not just "better than expected", I expected him to be a good outside fighter. I looked into his amateur pedigree before this fight.

 

I thought buatasi did well

Obviously he has improvement to make

However he caught a lot with his gloves and for arms and has an accurate right
