Just saw the highlights. Great performance from Buatsi. Did well to drop him in the 6th round and deservedly won by KO. Captain Obvious but I think he trumps all light-heavyweights in Britain.

Don’t forget the most exciting prospect in the world at 147, Conor Benn.

He's in a league of his own. Pointless seeing him fight anybody decent as he will just obliterate them.

Who do people think is realistic opponent next for Buasti?

Richards, Krasniqi, Boesel and Dirrell all highly ranked with WBA.

They put a couple of talking points to him and he's the boxing equivalent of a magic 8 ball. albeit with fewer responses...

    I'm all about exciting fights

I'm either going to knock you out or you're in for a hard time.

Perfect fight and outcome for Buatsi really.

Got the win with a spectacular finish....... but got taken late and tested. Bolotniks is a good fighter.

Bolotniks is decent but 31 years old and 6 losses out of 24 fights tells you a fair bit about his true level, let's see how Buatsi fares with an opponent on the upside and with some real hunger.
Sadly the likes of Richards are with other promoters so as much as Eddie would ove to give the fans their money's worth that sort of test is just out of the question at the time but the good news is Bolotniks has a second cousin with a similar record who would like to fight Buatsi.

Losses vs wins record does not matters more than ranking positions and opponents records before and after fights vs them.
With proper matchmaking majority of posters in forums might have 10-0-0 pro boxing record.
    I'm not joking.

His true level looks that is euro title level and euro level ( in 5 fights had been confirmed euro level, in 3 fights euro title level so he isn't so awful as record might had suggest. He is better then Burton and always will be, sorry, Michel, Ward and some similar level boxers ).
World title level and real cotender level for world title ? Bolotniks never will have, nothing wrong there, he still is good lad.
I think Burton, Ward, Michel will be suitable for Buatsi, he will KO them easier without any doubts.
Then might continue with true level boxers in Yarde ( Yarde actually likes me damn a lot ) and so on.

U need good looking record in numbers?
Make one, it is not difficult. 10-0? 20-0? Nothing undoable for a lot of forums posters, I'm not joking here.

I said Bolotniks was decent, 18-6 and never won or even challenged for the proper Euro title but some have half decent names on his record in fairness, don't see what you're getting so upset over tbh.

WBO titles are not proper titles?
    BoxRec: Bout
Ward had WBO Euro title. A.J does have WBO World title.

Based on him fighting for what?

Callum Johnson, Anthony Yarde and Craig Richards have all fought for a world title. So they are ahead of him.

Lyndon Arthur has the commonwealth title and has beaten Yarde so is ahead of him.

You can’t find no one and fight for no real titles and call yourself number 1 in Britain.

Wake me up when Buatsi steps the **** up. Why did Buatsi not take the Bivol fight?

I like Buatsi but he needs to get some more experience against decent opponents before thinking about Bivol etc. Eddie Hearn might be making noises about rolling the dice against Bivol but I can’t believe that an experienced coach like Virgil Hunter would advise it but then again he was in Khan’s corner when he fought Canelo ? Buatsi is 29 so does need to get a wiggle on .

    It is not so easy.
Bolotniks had " lost " ( yeah, had " lost " on German cards vs Team Sauerland boxer cruiserweight Nielsen ). Sorry, Nielsen most likely had steamrolled Bivol in clinch if they had fought and he had managed to clinch him. I had saw how looked Nielsen vs Lerena fight ( Lerena is really huge size for Cruiserweight division lad ) sometimes Nielsen had threw hook and wrestled, Lerena then was relatively helpless.
Vs Bolotniks he wasn't able to outmuscle him.
Nielsen had clearly won first 2 rounds, then 2 rounds were close fight and after this Bolotniks performed better. Last 2 rounds in 8 round fight Bolotniks had won with 0 doubts.
Remember term " German Cards ":D:p.
Bolotniks had been sparked out buy cruiserweight Mchunu.
Mchunu today is ranked by boxrec #4 in the world. #3 is Dorticos. #2 Makabu #1 Briedis.
Mchunu ranking in these orgs currently today is : TBRB: #5, ESPN: #5, WBC: champion is Makabu, #1 after him is Mchunu, WBO: Mchunu is ranked #3, IBO as #2. The Ring too does have Mchunu in their top 10 list.
This means that Mchunu today is ranked in world cruiserweight top 10 in 6 well known western sources and orgs.

Vs Mchunu this Bolotniks fight was: Mchunu had outboxed him 4 rounds, then attempted to pull on gas and lost 5 th round vs Bolotniks, then in 6 th round he lulled Bolotniks in trap and sparked him out.

If we bear in mind that Mchunu had recieved such judges cards vs Lebedev in Russia: 119:108, 120:107, 115: 112 all cards for Mchunu as a winner vs Lebedev in Russia, this is level there.

A lot of top 15 ranked LHW boxers does not have chances nor vs Nielsen nor vs Mchunu. Nielsen looks that now is retired despite he is younger than Bolotniks, also looks that not older than Buatsi.

If Buatsi had not Bolotniks but Mchunu in the ring last week, Buatsi did not walked till cards.
Buatsi is LHW prospect, while Mchunu is cruiserweight boxer with better boxing skills than any one Buatsi had fought in pro ranks and he carries more 1 punch power than Durodola, not alone Usyk.

For me entertaining looked posts that Buatsi will finish Bolotniks in 4 or 6 rounds and EASILY.
Good that he finished Bolotniks, I had assumed that he most likely will win on cards by UD.

It isn't casual journeyman if we use criteria : he is there just to gave some rounds ( common in UK ). Bolotniks does come to fight and at least a bit had tested everyone, even Mchunu during 5 th round in their fight.
Ofc Bolotniks does not look like future champ:p:yaay.

Bolotniks fight was good tester for Buatsi. Like vs gatekeeper.
While fighting vs Bolotniks will not enough prepare for fights vs Bivol, Beterbiev because they does have different styles.
It will not prepare enough also to fight vs EE style boxers because Bolotniks does not box like converted into a pro former EE am boxers.

The attitude towards Buatsi coming from a decent number of members on this forum has always genuinely surprised me.

Not too many seem to rate him?

I've posted about him what must be dozens of times now saying more or less the same- for me he is the best LHW in Britain by a country mile and will win a version of the world title at some point in 2022. I don't claim he will dominate for years, retire a true great, or anything of the sort, but he will be a world champion, at least once and have a great career, giving us some memorable fights in the process.

He's fairly unique in the sense that from all the Matchroom 'prospects' he is one of the only ones to not need any favors. He is good enough to beat legit champions, no vacant belts needed.

If you ever talk to any gym fighters, sparring partners, coaches or assistant coaches of/at whatever level in the UK, or anyone involved in the sport who has seen Joshua Buatsi spar in person and trained around him I can promise you one thing- every single one of them will tell you he is special.

He beat a very good, big, super tough and strong Euro level fighter on Saturday night and he beat him in style too. He walked him down at will, went toe to toe with him when he needed to, hurt him multiple times in the fight and I think put on a very strong performance.

I hope the 'he's packing glass' brigade have now been silenced for good. JB took hard, flush shots from Bolotniks in each round and did not budge.

Looking forward to his next fight...I hope more people get on board and support him he deserves it, great fighter and I know it's a common boxing cliché so sorry for repeating it but outside of the ring a true gent and credit to this sport.
