August 14th @ Matchroom FightCamp. WBA light heavyweight International title at stake, Buatsi's seventh defense. The former Latvian pro hockey player - and friend & stablemate of Mairis Briedis - has been on a nice run since his last defeat, against Thabiso Mchuni in 2018, going 7-0 with three victories over UK based fighters. None of those was quite the specimen Buatsi has proven to be, however.
Let's be honest...Buatsi didn't look great recently. Very basic and very, very raw. Not impressed. Bolotniks on the other hand is improving from fight to fightand he fought some good competition too and dismantled everyone with his pressure, power and coming forward style. I'm not very excited to see this going to a decision as i guess Buatsi will get a PTS W in the end, even if Bolotniks can make it competitive so i just hope Ricards goes out and bangs the **** out of Buatsi. Otherwise i guess Buatsi wins. They even gifted him a KO W over Ryan Ford ffs. Buatsi just not very good. He might improve but i don't see it. So my prediction is a controversial PTS W for Buatsi but my heart says Bolotniks by KO! And i really think that can happen. Buatsi is vulnerable to pressure imo.
This won't be some Mighty Ducks story. JB is going to be the Hawks showing no mercy in the first match. I can get $5.20 on the dollar for a Bolotniks win. So many have just looked at his record and assumed he is a step backwards, when that couldn't be further from the truth. They really have no idea who he is and what he is capable of. I think Josh will have a much harder fight but will pass this test.
FTW, the Bolotniks train keep rolling on!!!!!!!!!!! His pressure will get to him and crack him. Ricards KO8. And for the record, this is heart... and mind telling me this.
