All I've been hearing lately is how Joshua is going to smash klit and would wipe through fury in an instant. I really do hope he is the second coming of Lewis as casuals are pertaining him to be. But come on he's only now stepping into world level. He's best win is a European level fighter. Part of me wants him to get smashed by klit just to shut the casuals up. And it really would make Fury look good. No casuals like Fury as his style is not fan friendly. And they don't understand how a guy that big with movement is a force to be reckoned with. I'm watching the fight in the pub with about 20 of us it's going to be hard work listening to them all bumming Joshua.
I won't be surprised if either fighter wins. Fury already beat Wlad so that has taken away a lot of the invincibility factor that surrounded him for a long time. Interested in the fight because there are a lot of questions regarding both fighters at the moment, but I think the actual fight itself will be a snoozefest.
People complaining about Joshua fans have become annoying as casual Joshua fans. Wait till April 29th, whatever happens, happens.
Think Joshua really believes in his own power so can't see it being a snooze fest He has no business trying to outbox him.
I was like that.... But now I'm at the stage that I want him to win to spite the ridiculous wannabe 'hardcore' helmet fans. You know the weird types that pretend they are more excited for Usyk vs Mchunu than Joshua vs Klitschko.
It's nothing new, and basically not even close to the level as the Haye hype about 6 years back when Wlad was still at the top of his game. Much better chance of the hype being warranted this time though.
I understand your point about the Joshua casuals, they can be quite annoying sometimes, the other day my mate said to me after Joshua KO's Wlad there won't be any heavyweight out there that can beat him, I then asked him to name me 5 other active heavyweights, to which he could only name 2, Fury & Haye. However at the end of the day is it not a good thing that we have this hype machine in Joshua who can create a buzz around boxing once again? The last time there was this much interest in boxing in the UK was when Hatton fought Mayweather all them years ago. I want boxing to appeal to the wider audience, even those who don't know anything about boxing.
Exactly, its about time Britain had a huge name fighter than can appeal to those outside of hardcore boxing fans and generate interest. I think Joshua has a real chance against Klitschko, nobody knows exactly whats going to happen. Nobody knows how good Joshua is, and nobody knows for sure just how good Klitschko is going to be anymore. I personally am really looking forward to it and hoping Joshua takes him in the middle rounds after putting on a classy performance to prove himself as more than just a knockout machine. He needs a proper test and fair play to him for stepping up. Cant understand all the hate he gets sometimes, understand his fanboys can be irritating and he is marketed as this "Humble" young man, but we should get behind the guy and give him a bit of backing in what is the biggest British fight since Hatton-Mayweather. Lets just hope he is the real deal.
Agreed, I find the hardcore hipster fans in the UK highly annoying, they hate on Joshua just because he is popular, they only like fighters when they are up & coming then when everyone starts liking that fighter it is no longer cool to keep liking him.
Apparently you're hardcore when you can hate on a fighter that hasn't put a foot wrong, is exciting and is exactly what boxing has been crying out for for years. But some people would rather see Joshua fail, just so they can say "I told you so". Some of us are just boxing fans and appreciate anyone who steps in the ring and puts on a show. Hardcore/casual - put a label on it if you must. I'd rather be "casual" than a boxing snob.
I think if AJ wins this then he's the real deal and will unify the belts for a long time. Something tells me though that this will be a boring spectacle as both have too much to lose and both are just jab and straight right fighters, but also in my mind is that Klit will win this & will not go 12 rounds guaranteed. It's about who lands first.
Exactly, at the end of the day he can only fight what's put in front of him. And Joshua has done that. Would understand the hate if he was boring to watch, got gifted decisions, had no power or charisma and was still hyped the way he is. But all he has done so far is blow away everyone put in front of him, he might by overhyped but until we see something other than him delivering knockout after knockout i dont see how he can be too heavily criticised.
