Joshua Clottey does not have an effective defence

Defence is not just about blocking/absorbing and minimizing damage. Bernard Hopkins can slow fights right down, force his opponent to change, dictate the fight from a defensive stance. Floyd Mayweather can make a guy wary to throw, to question his own tactics. These guys know defence, Joshua Clottey holds his hands up and leaves himself a sitting target. He cannot influence a fight at all using his style, all he does is lose rounds but cling to the Pyrrhic victory of good Compubox stats. It's stupid.
