Joshua Clottey: "PBF is excellent but too small for WW, Margarito is normal"

The difference is that Clottey would actually throw his left hand for 12 round rather than 4. He threw the left hand for 4 rounds and won all 4 rounds. He stopped throwing it for the rest of the fight, and still in my book, won 2 of the remaining 8 rounds.

Stylistically Clottey owns Margarito. :deal

 

Just like the way he was throwing it in the first fight right cause he still was throwing punches with that hand and STILL LOST THAT FIGHT :deal So if they ever fight again changes are that he will hurt it again.

And also dont forget that Margarito hurt his hand as well and he showed it at the end of that fight...oh and last time i check Margarito own's Clottey cause beat him if you haven't seen that fight check boxrec or use youtube:thumbsup

 

Going by that logic then Lorenzo owned Soto because he initially won that fight right? Or if you want a more reasonable comparison then how about Bute owning Andrade.

And clearly Clotty's injury was more significant. He went from throwing and landing his left at will, to trying to throw it, to flat out not throwing it for periods of time. And I've it before that Clottey was far more impressive in the rounds that he won than was Margo in his rounds. :deal

 

haha clottey looks so African in that video. I somewhat agree with him and it would be interesting if floyd could go back down to lightweight and run such a stacked division.

pbf is a small welter but he can still hang with the welters but has never really faced a top welter ever. thats a lot of "welters".

And boxrec doesn't mean everything. In 20 years from now, would you want people judging off of boxrec fights. It's what separates the knowledgable fans from the assholes.

I had clottey winning by a round in which he stopped throwing his signature left hook with any conviction after the 4th. From what i remember he easily won the first four rounds...margarito looked ordinary. In the rematch i would edge clottey.

I had the fight 6 rounds apiece. I get why the judges favored Margo because throwing 1700 punches or whatever it was can look impressive. The truth is most of those punches were blocked and although Clottey's work rate was far less and diminished from his injury, he still managed to land the more cleaner and significant punches. As I stated before Clottey was far more impressive in the rounds he won because of clean punching.

 

With Clottey it can happen anytime.

Clottey didnt injur a thing, that is a fact, he said so in the pre fight interview the night he fought Corrales he said it was just a bruised knuckle so I am sorry but that had clottey not got hurt excuse holds no water, there are no sources saying he broke or even sprained anything, the fact is like I said, when Tony started to turn it on, Clottey just tried to survive.
