Apparently Clottey is the number one contender for the WBA strap
He says Mosley has avoided him in the past but the running is over.

“I don’t think Shane Mosley can runaway this time since I am the first contender to the title,” Clottey.
“He has avoided me over the years, but I think this is the right time for us to fight because there cannot be any excuses from anybody anymore."

This would be a tough fight but I'll take Shane by UD!

How does Clottey end up being the number 1 contender for the WBA?

Yeah, how is this dude #1 contender to anything when he just lost! Shouldnt you have to beat someone to become a top contender? Good match up though.

Clottey's promoter got him into that position. It is amazing that he can lose a fight and then demand more big fights. Thank Top Rank.

According to "the scene", it hasn't been clarified if Clottey is the WBA super champion #1 contender or the regular WBA champion #1 contender.

Its strange that Carl Froch not accused Mosley yet for running from him

Im sure everyone is running from Clottey after they saw how he handled an insecure, possibly ruined fighter in Cotto who had his damn eye hanging out! I hope Shane knocks this dude unconscious

Can anyone blame Shane for running anyway? Clottey is all risk, no reward.

Clottey had his chance against Cotto and slowed up again down the stretch. He's not really in a position to be demanding a fight with Sugar Shane.

He really is in position to demand a fight against Shane if he's the mandatory.

Clottey's a very good fighter, I thought he beat Cotto by close UD but it is what it is. Either way he's a nightmare for anyone at WW including Mosley. I'll be rooting for Mosley but Clottey's style will be difficult for him. I think Shane should make this fight, he has nowhere else to go and Clottey's the best available fighter besides Berto who seems to wanna go after Hlatshwayo for the IBF belt he just won against Rodrigues Sat night. Mosley would have a way easier time with Berto and I think Clottey would beat Berto's ass.
