He perked up on twitter, and then just didn't tweet again. In the space of about 2 days, he called out every boxer - regardless of their weight classes apparently.
He killed his own career. Had he actually fought, he would still be popular and Arum would get him fights.
I think Clottey should definitely come back at 154. . . He'd be even stronger from not having to cut weight, and still would be considered a bigger than average 154 pounder. . . I think his rehydration to 170 from 147 is the most I've ever heard of. . . He is DANGEROUSLY underrated because of how bad Pac tooled him (even though he didn't really hurt him). . . Before that fight, Clottey had NEVER. . . NEVER lost a "one-sided fight". . . Even the Margarito fight where he had one hand, he was still competitive, and won 4 rounds on my card. . . ANd I thought he beat Cotto 114-113 (7 rounds to 5, minus one point from KD). Interesting FYI/Food for Thought: Margarito set the all-time compubox record for punches thrown in the CLottey fight - he threw like over 1600 punches, but had a horrendously low connect percentage due to CLottey's AIR TIGHT high-guard!
I imagine he's prolly living it up in Ghana off that one million payday he got from Pac fight (then his 10% or whatever he got from the PPV revenue). . . . Lol, he's probably one of the richest boxers in the world right now. . . *per exchange rate, or what have you.
Clottey showed promise and then fumbled. Poor showing against Pac, not so much that he lost, but that he did not try to win. Where has he been and why isn't he fighting. Definitely is not living up to his talk dating back 3 years ago.
