I do not take pleasure in this. I have always liked the guy.

But you have to know as a fighter that when you finish staggering around, seconds from being stopped, it is not just little tweaks that are needed.

3 more rounds? 3 more seconds and Usyk would have stopped it.

I suppose at that level, with that much ego, it's hard to accept a schooling of that calibre.

30 more seconds and he was gone, he needs to be focusing on the rematch.

All Trevor Berbick needed against Mike Tyson was to figure out how not to get knocked down three times by the same punch.

Eddie told the poor fella he was a cultural icon similar to Ali. He's the propped up head of a marketing machine designed to extract money from insecure fellas. Meltdowns at this reality showing itself are inevitable.

I was kind of hoping for a little bit more from Joshua.

I mentioned in another thread that Wilders main problem was having yes men around him.

No man is an island meaning that someone like Wilder or Joshua needs to be told what to do and that can tell them the truth.

Now it's a bit different with Joshua but the net result is the same. After winning an Olympic medal and then doing well in the Pro's he's been the top dog but he's outgrown his surroundings and is now a big fish in a small pond. So there is no one to tell him what to do because he's the big man.

Like Wilder no one around him has had the balls to say look pal you goofed we're going to have to practice the following things in order to close the gap. It then leaves a gap for an excuse and then that excuse gets encouraged and compounded by everyone around them agreeing.

That's exactly what happened with Wilder and that's why a string of stupid excuses came out.

Ask yourself this. Would any of this crap happened to either of them if they were under Emanuel Steward?

These guys just have a terrible time accepting defeat. Somehow I think it’s worst with HWs too, altho obviously not exclusive to them.

So then Joshua's predicting he'll win the rematch with a KO 03?

Unfortunately for Joshua he needs vast improvements to his gas tank and speed. Anyone that’s ever trained in any sport, or even just to improve fitness, will know that improving stamina is simply the worst. However, it’s also the most basic. By the end of Usyk’s camp he was doing 15 ‘4 minute’ rounds, with 30 second intervals.

Joshua’s trainer needs to demand the same, along with a much greater output in each round. The guy should be spewing by the end of, and during it. But over time he’ll acclimatise, no doubt naturally shedding a load of that water muscle in the process, and picking up speed.

20-30 more seconds and the fight would have ended in a KO victory for Usyk. That may be the result of the rematch.

This is a shame. A massive shame.

I always felt AJ was both over rated and under rated.

He was never the best HW ever, but he was the best in the world during Furys absence. Much like Cormier was during Jones absence.

But this is pure delusion. I always felt Usyk would knock him out and he came damn close to doing so. I've no doubt Usyk dominates the rematch. Especially if AJ reckons he doesn't need to change much.

Too many yes men, too big an entourage.

    Such a shame.
