I think you missed the part where that card was supposed to be a set up for them to fight. Only Wilder fumbled the bag. And His Excellent Turkey was going to make Joshua vs Wilder now, had Wilder beaten Zhang. Yet Wilder again fumbled the bag. Well, it was more like he put the bag over his head and jumped down a flight of stairs.
Why would anyone think that if you lose to Usyk, a southpaw technician, it means you need more fine tuning to beat Wilder? That makes 0 sense.
He was given that one but was probably on his steroid cycle. When I say Ortiz wasnt given opportunities I mean to fight Chisora, Parker, Whyte etc Those UK fighters that are in the mix
Because Joshuas confidence was shot at the time That's why he needed a Jermaine Franklin tuneup, a Dillan Whyte tuneup (ended up being Helenius) and another tune up vs Wallin.. Joshua also wanted to beat Whyte, Wallin and Wilder so he can beat the same guys as Fury and if he did better would be able to market the Fury fight better by showing people that Joshua is really better than Fury.
Ask the Saudis. They set up the card. And at this point, it´s rather pointless to even be bothered with this question as Wilder got dominated in his last two fights. Joshua and Wilder coulda, shoulda, woulda fought each other for nearly a decade. And in the end it didn´t happen. Time to move on.
Nonsense. He was offered the Joshua fight after Miller popped. He signed with Matchroom too in the view of matching him against their HWs but was so awful against Dave Allen he got canned. He had opportunities but just wasn’t good enough to take them. I never said he was rated highly. He was seen as a bogey man by some who wanted to prop Wilder up. Much like you are poorly attempting to do here.
Yeah forget about the Joshua fight that’s not a big opportunity or anything. Much rather an opportunity to fight Whyte or Chisora. Poor Luis just couldn’t catch a break.
Dillion Whyte got an opportunity to fight Joshua coming off of his Franklin performance which many thought he lost. This is after the Fury and Povetkin kos Whyte also got to fight Parker, Chisora, etc Being from the UK and being able to speak the English language well gets you opportunities that someone like Ortiz wouldn't get That's why Whyte has the deeper resume but Ortiz is the better more skilled fighter
Does it really matter ? you're splitting hairs they were scheduled to fight end of, and as @Badbot said Wilder fumbled against Parker hence the fight no longer had any interest. Wilder could've put himself in the picture but again fumbled against Zhang and that's that it's that simple. You seem to be asking so many questions on why Joshua didn't fight this guy or that guy. But why don't you ask why did Wilder avoided Whyte for like 2 years when he was his mandatory ? Why did Wilder avoid Povetkin ? Why did Wilder fight no hopers for the majority of his title reign ?
