No, im a fan and Joshua is not something too special. But then the Joshua hype train is not for people like us, its for the masses that want to believe in unstoppable forces of nature and men of steel. Those people dont come on here and debate every piece of footwork and break down the what ifs, those people want to be fed the hype and sing along and be part of the party hype train. Joshua is a flawed fighter in a division full of flawed fighters and he currently sits at the top of it, it is up to some other flawed figher to try knock him off it. The hype lovers dont want to be told he is flawed and the real Boxing fans can ignore the hype and make up thier own minds.
Bums like Martin and Cornish are easy to blow away with their chins hanging in the air. So are static behemoths like Breazeale, or rabbits caught in headlights like Molina. But Joshua looks stiff and clueless when presented with a moving target. Luckily that target never had the tnt to knock the stuffing out of him like old WK.
as kirk said all fighters especially at heavy get kod or lose at some point what was your your opinion of tyson when he fought quick tillis / mitch green back to back ? what was your opinion of lewis when he fought tony tucker in his first defense ? what was your opinion of when wladimir fought ross purity all these fghts took place around the same stage of there careers that joshua is at now i remember all 3 fighters receiving similar critisim that you give joshua. frank bruno was not a bad fighter / in fact i cannot think of another fighter who outjabbed lewis.
The thing is Parker is still a bum and the heavyweight division is still garbage. So AJ best wins so far is a old Wlad in a fight he almost got knocked out in and against a fat, slow, unskiled Joseph Parker.
Hes still progressing in every fight, this comes with the territory. Tyson experienced the same kind of performances on his rise to the undisputed crown, Joshua is no different. The Wilder fight is a Mega fight of A true Heavyweight proportion, and I can't wait till it finally happens.
Parkers a bum? Lmao ya ok... your dragon ball z has made you pretty out of touch with reality there Piccolo.
And who has Wilder beat? AJ beats Parker 9-3, Takam 9-1, KOs Klitschko while Wilder was badly behind vs Ortiz, Washington, Szpilka and so on. By this logic Ali, Lewis, Foreman are bums because they have not won every single round in their careers.
Agreed. He's a good fighter and has earned the right to call himself a champion but he's definitely nothing special. He's one of the best in an average bunch in my opinion and is very much beatable. It's easy to forget that a 41 year old over the hill Klitschko was on the verge of beating him. Imagine what a prime Wlad would've done to Joshua...
The ****ing guy has all the belts bar one after 21 fights. I just don't understand what people want from boxing any more.
His war with Klitschko makes him deserving of the hype in terms of him being seen as the best out there. I dont believe anyone else would have beaten that version of Vlad personally. Joshua did and thats all there is to it, he did it by the skin of his teeth but he got the result. I'm not a big fan but that deserves some hype / attention or whatever. Since then he has been unimpressive, you are only as good as your last fight I guess but he still is the main attraction and is still able to live off that big win. If Wilder got a KO against an old but very motivated Wlad he would be, but his competition hasn't been near that imo. Joshua isnt up there with the greats one bit, but he is the best out there at the moment until Wilder can prove otherwise. I'm not sold on that yet either, Wilder has dangerous power but thats about it, other than that he is pretty vulnerable himself and can barely box. a lot of people say how great the division is now, I dont really agree. Maybe its interesting because of the characters around etc, but in terms of skill and greatness the division is still bad. I think its been such a bad run that any fight resembling any form of quality is lauded. fans are just craving a big star. AJ has the star quality but as a fighter he could well fall short but the hype he gets is because of that craving for a hero, no one else is presenting that star power so good on him to be honest. but in terms of fighting skill, if Lennox Lewis was still around, AJ would be better of sticking to a career in body building.
People keep mentioning he will be "exposed" soon What does "exposed" mean? He's hardly cherry picked has he? He's fought and beat some really good fighters. So what's he going to be "exposed" as? Even if he does lose his next fight and then retire, he's still jad a really good career already. Give it up with this "exposed" business.
Klitschko didn't knock the stuffing out of him though you mcmuffin, so Joshua proved then and now that he has a chin. You stupid hater.
