Joshua does not have otherworldly power.

I agree on this point too, 100%, its just how some fighters that fit their handlers bill, are over-hyped to the point that they are under more pressure to win big, and when they lose it's the end of the world. It's not the fighters fault, it's who handles and manages them. These tend to be the culprits here.

 

The bloke has an MBE, Olympic gold medallist and has 12 knockout wins from 12 pro fights. Surely that deserves some respect.

As long as Johnson has been training hard Joshua is going to be made to go rounds here.

Acording to Dillian Whyte, while they were all in the same Klitschko camp last year Joshua and Whyte both sparred Johnson. Joshua jumped out after a round because he couldnt get to grips with Johnson. Whyte also struggled but asked to do more rounds to improve and now they train together.

 

Obviously there is still a lot to learn about Joshua, the fights he has had have built up his profile but that's all they have done.

Hopefully Johnson brings something to the ring although I'm doubtful that he poses any real threat again. It is a step up however and one Joshua badly needs, so far his career has taught him nothing, nothing about taking punches, nothing about defense and nothing to test him.

His power you can't really argue with just now, he is knocking everyone out. Regardless of the quality of opposition he has done everything he has had to do so far.

 

He is doin whats expected of him and getting some hype by ko guy =£ as people will watch but the level is poor and i would expect a lh in kovalev to stop them all too.
I hope they do start to move him up and get some experience before he fights the top guys.
Yesterday hearn was telling everyone callum smith is world class now even though he has beat no one not even fought the best domestically and that is a sure way to get found out in the future hope they dont do it with joshua.

 

Hearn has ruined the boxing product on Sky with well over 80% of his televised fights this year 1/20 odds on shots or worse and 50% of his fights at odds less than 1/10.

On the Brum card - Egg head was 1/20 on but the other 3 televised bouts were 1/100 odds on and worse. Thank fook Ricky Burns saved the night.

In summary the boxing on Sky is sadly now more predictable than the scripted wrestling.

Sky should be challenging Hearn and demanding better fights or s**** his solo promoter deal.

They are slowly building him, and you can't blame them. He's fought around the country, and the fans like him and are wanting more.

His first pro fight was with someone 7-0. He's fought people that took Chisora and Fury a good few rounds but blown them away far earlier.

A bit of a step up in a couple of weeks...if he gets through that, which he should, I want to see bigger fights. Price, Stiverne, Fury, Wilder etc

 

In the great scheme of building fighters careers the heavyweights have always been maneuvered slowly.

The only heavyweight I can remember being thrown in the mix early Leon Spinks back in 1978!

 

Price does have genuine world class power. He's absolutely perfectly balanced when he throws that big right and gets every gram of his bodyweight into it. The issue is he has no jab, no chin and no engine.

 

Del Boy was British Heavyweight Champion after 13 fights and fought Vitali after 18 fights. Derek was scheduled to fight Wlad for the world title after 14 fights but Wlad cancelled twice.

Think this gives some context to Joshua's 12 puddings to date and the 13th Pudding at the end of the month.

That guy last night looked like a fooking drug dealer who got caught selling drugs to children. He looked as though he sh-it himself before the fight started.

 

Lets get real, name me a heavyweight who had a better resume than Joshua after 12 fights?

Who had Klitschko fought after 12 fights? What about Tyson or Lewis?

Now I am not saying he is in the same league as those guys, but his opposition is not bad at all for a 12 fight pro. Who was Wilder fighting in his 12th fight?

 

AJ does have very good power, Briggs has good power and he couldn't get Love out of there. As for Price I think that Price may have slightly better one punch power but he doesn't know how to put punches together and he doesn't set his shots up because he has no jab. AJ hasn't fought anyone and that is nothing new for a heavyweight, lots of guys who have gone on to do great things moved at this pace or slower, someone mentioned Solis, however he was a superb amateur over a longer period of time than AJ and that is a reason as to why he was moved quicker, but look what happened to him.

 

When he gets his title shots and grab them after his victories then maybe AJ haters will believe. The only reason I believe the hype is I like the way that as soon as he feels the opponent is ready he goes for the kill with lots of big shots and finishes the fight as quick as need be, others haven't. I think he is the real deal even if it takes a couple more years to do so
