Insular thinking like this is why US fighters get paid less than Europeans.

The 20 million + Europeans that watch Joshua fight will not do so if the fight is in a different timezone.

It really isn't difficult to comprehend.

He didn't deserve it but he GOT it. He went from a joke Youtube PPV with Mick Henessey to a career high payday. His team out maneuvered Team Wilder and stole their March check.

I can get behind Tyson-Joshua just fine myself. It'd be the first time history the UK hosted a HW title fight between two guys from the UK both of which have been unified champions. That's pretty cool no matter where you're from.

Deserves it better than many, Parker and Duco got f**ked around so much with the Fury fight - this at least makes up for that bunch. Not sure what else he's meant to do to deserve it, they got enough people interested in the fight, they brought the fight to AJ and with a better ref it may have been a significantly more exciting fight. People basically thought AJ would never go the distance but JP took him there while actually trying to fight him, seems like a lot more than Wilder has done so far.

I'm English so great for me if the fight is on at 10:30. But insular from your side to not acknowledge that there may be more money if it is on US PPV. AJ has his UK fan base at a whim so they will gladly stay up until 4am to watch him fight. 80K in a stadium or 500K+ PPV and probably a sell out at the MGM.

Canelo GGG falling by the wayside has made this fight infinitely bigger as boxing is crying out for a megafight.

Just my opinion. AJ is the A Side and no guarantees it would deliver on US PPV so can see the logic in the tried and tested UK market.

UK and European fans will not be prepared to do that.

The UK fans to Joshua are what the German fans were to Klitschko.

Klitschko was pulling in 8/9/10 million every fight on RTL when fighting in Germany....But only 1.5 million on the same network when fighting Jennings in the US.

    Timezones are crucial.

I will pay for a ppv that starts at 18.00 and is all over by 23.30 I get my money worth. Cards that start at 01.00 and finish at 6.00 mean I end up setting an alarm and watching if I wake up and miss the full card.
Why should AJ fight in the US?

I know right? The reality is that Parker got a higher guarantee for fighting AJ than Windmills in his whole career.

i agree with ghostly badge / you look forward to the fight / the undercard is boring its now 3am in the morning / you have been at work all day and are now desperatly tired and you have another 1 1/2 hours to try and stay awake for a fighter in joshua who gets 350k usa viewers on normal subscription usa tv let alone making what americans say is $100 a pop ppv.

how many americans do you think would pay $50 to watch a 4.30am start time sunday morning fight ?

    10 k /20 k ?
