That's my opinion. With him having to head straight into a mandatory with Pulev, it didn't make sense to cut weight at that time. Pulev isn't mobile or a busy fighter, so going in heavy made perfect sense. If he had been due to fight Takam in the first place, i'm pretty sure he'd have looked to cut weight for him as he's a little more mobile.....he's almost like a slightly worse Parker. After the fight with Wlad, Wlad said he spotted a few weaknesses in Joshua and it's highly probable that one of them was his weight.
Joshua looks up to Wilder (The superior race in AJ's on words). Joshua thinks the darker the berry the sweeter the juice.
