Joshua has to take the 65/35 to fight Parker?

I don’t know how Hearn’d can justify not taking this split. To be honest I think Parker should have 40%. I know Parker does not make up 35% of the revenue, but if Joshua is serious about unifying this is the kind of split he must take.

Parker has so far showed a lot of confidence that he could beat Joshua.

Hearn’s if he does not take the offer shows a weird lack of confidence in his fighter.

    I think Joshua will win.

Who can Hearns put a Joshua up against next that could justify him rejecting this 65/35 split? Wilder yes, and Fury that is it.

If the fight does not happen next. Hell will rain down on Joshua and Hearn.

It was, but a LOT more people know who team Parker are. They've spent f all money and have a huge amount of people talking about it, all saying they don't care - but taking the time to do so and add their two cents on the whole thing.

This scrappy bunch of amateurs are making a very valid point that they have a belt, and while Hearn is implying otherwise - he is not willing to risk too much in order to go for it, otherwise he'd have gone 60:40 and been done with it.

Joshua should take a paycut for the opportunity to win Parker's belt, but Parker should expect to make possibly more than he had earnt in his entire lifetime with a shot a Joshua's two belts?

    Where's the logic there?

It’s made real clear that Team Parker just wants a payday. They don’t believe they can win. Parker just keeps dishing out bad performance after bad performance. He poses real good during photos and has the right look but he doesn’t have the goods.

They need to accept reality before they get exposed by a lesser fighter.

Yet he is a belted Champ with an unbeaten record. He has never been dropped in his entire career. He has taken 2 0's from fighters in the last 3 fights. He believes he can win. AJ has been shown up by lesser fighters, and it's Parkers time to finish the job.

The ball is in Hearns court. He needs to make the fight happen, and to do that a 35% split is fair considering they are unifying, against an unbeaten fighter. If they want to fight Wilder, they'll be haggling againsts Wilders 50/50 split percentage.

35% for Parker I thought was fair but the most he could expect considering the disparity in what they both earn.

But the speed with which Duco climbed down from their 60/40 demand put Hearn firmly in the driving seat of these negotiations. Hearn knows he can squeeze more out of them and there's still plenty of time to get this fight made if they are planning it for March or April as suggested. Hearn will sit back and let them sweat it out before he makes a counter offer.

I still think this fight gets made but we are still some way off in regards to the financial settlement. Both sides will play their mind games for a while yet to squeeze what little value they can get.

At some point Duco will say 'Enough' and sign the Browne fight.

    I can see it happening.

This. The more Parker's team speaks the lower Parker's cut gets. At this point it's obvious to everyone that Duco is way out of his league negotiating with Hearn, who has to be laughing at what an amateur Duco is.

who they fought and when is how to assess a fighter's stock. that way, it can't be sugar-coated with alphabet belts and an "unbeaten record"

Yeah it's clear Higgins is out of his depth. Hearn has publicly rejected the 35% deal and Higgins response was to mention that Hearn said 25% was undervaluing Parker and said that was a positive thing, that just tells Hearn he can squeeze Higgins even lower. Higgins started playing hardball with that 40% demand but he capitulates too easily and in doing so shows his hand.

I think Hearn is looking to make it at 30% as he wouldn't of put that 25% figure out in the media as being too little for Parker and I think he knows Higgins will jump at that. But he won't offer it immediately he'll make them sweat it out for a bit.

if parker is serious he will take a career high payday of 30% and earn more than he can make against any other fighter in a 50/50 split and more than he will ever earn every again in his career.

I watched the IFL interview last night.

Hearn has said Parker can have the 35% purse they want but if he wants that 35% then Joshua keeps the UK PPV sales and Parker keeps the New Zealand PPV sales.

I think that is more than fair and like Hearn said, the offer already is multi milllions, Parker can either accept it or go and fight somebody like Lucas Browne for around 1 million (probably less).

So in my opinion it's Parkers Team that are pushing their luck, they will price Parker out of a fight that would earn him a lot of money and the chance to be the main man in the division and all that goes with it.

Just have to add, I think Parker would accept the offer Hearn talked about, I believe he wants the big fights, I just think his people are pushing it and could end up costing him a lot of money.

It's the other way around. Parker's team looks like they lack confidence by being unwilling to fight for a career high payday. Do you think Joshua would turn down a Parker fight for a career high payday?

No it won't. People will obviously see that Hearn has offered Parker what he is worth and Parker's team are rejecting it. Joshua's fans are not going to care if he doesn't fight Parker next. Most of them don't know who he is and those that do know, don't rate him too highly. The only people who will (claim to) really care if this fight doesn't happen next is a few hardcore fans who dislike Joshua anyway

Hearn being a bit greedy if you ask me. Smacks of pricing themselves out of a fight. Why shouldn't Parker get a cut of the UK ppv? The split should be based on the global gross.
