Well it doesn't matter who the better fighter may be, but who is the bigger draw here?
What's the biggest attendance Parker has fought in front of?
In his own country fighting for the WBO strap against Ruiz he only pulled in 9000!

That fight only generated $4.2 mill NZD, that's about $2.9 mill USD from 70K PPV sales.

The New Zealand PPV record for sales was a Tua fight that did 91K, even if this fight breaks the record in NZ and does 100K at the $60 NZD they charge for PPV there it only generates $6 mill NZD or $4.1 mill USD.

Joshua/Wlad did $39.8 mill USD in comparison. So in reality Parker only brings 9%. That's the huge disparity here.

If Parker was that confident he would take 30% with a condition on 50-50 in any rematch clause

Is what you say offered to Parker? If so, please provide source.

It’s in the news that Hearn is rejecting a very fair 65/35 split. Hearn’s is ducking the Parker fight. Hearn’s is turning in to a problem, the reasons why these big fights can’t be made.

If Parker wins, in the rematch he will be getting the 70%

The fight will get done probably at 70/30. Which is still hell of lot more than Parker has ever made or can make from any other fight.

The reality of the situation is Hearn/Joshua hold all the cards. Parker will have to take what he can get. And no way is he walking away from a 70/30 split which is way, way more than he has ever made or would be able to make fighting anyway else.

I think Parker probably beats Joshua.
Despite looking bad in every fight recently, he's a solid all-round boxer and the supspicion is that he has a great chin.
I think Hearn is worried about guys with great chins facing Joshua now.

Parker's nothing special but he's probably a lot better than he appears to be recently. I think Joshua's style will suit him.

He's shown alot of confidence how? He's look really poor in his last 3 fights? Then they say parker has a granite chin because takam and ruiz didn't drop him... takam didn't drop joshua either? What a stupid presser it was, showing the public all the things we already knew and have seen. Parker and his team are desperate for a fight. They started at 40% and then reduced to 35% so they can now claim to public they'v budged on their price so now joshua should budge.. how and why do people fall for this sillyness. They are clearly trying to make parker a huge payday and nothing more, they know he will lose

I can’t believe Hearn’s if offered this split and he still turns it down. This is the spilt most people expected. Total lack of confidence in Joshua.

    Most expected? Not at all.

I expected Parker to get 25% so 30% is a win for him. A guy who fights in front of 9k at home and very little PPV buys should be grateful for 30% of the AJ pie.

What's Parker's alternative? He can go and demand the lion's share against a challenger of probably no more than $5m. Or he can take the thin end of $40m and the opportunity to put himself in the boss seat.

Quibbling over 5% here and 5% there is short-sighted. Make the fight. If you're confident of victory, the split doesn't really matter. Joshua has more to lose than Parker.

Every Joshua fight won't be Joshua Wlad type revenue, sorry. This is the mistake that Joshua fans keep making when making comparisons to Joshua's opponents gates, revenue and worth.

I can believe it. Higgins dropped his split demand far too quickly. The fight isn't going to be until March or April, Higgins could of dragged this out for much longer but the way he capitulated so soon as basically allowed Hearn to know he can squeeze them for more.

I think best Higgins and Parker can expect now is 30%, maybe not even that if Higgins keeps coming off desperate.

You're right there it could be less, but it could be more, we don't really know until it happens we can only base it upon what is possible from past events.

But if we go off the Takam numbers, where they sold a similar number of tickets as Froch/Groves 2 which generated about $28.8 mill at today's rates that means Parker only brings 17%.

Personally I think it does more than Takam, probably close to what Joshua/Wlad did, this will be a big, big fight. Unification's don't come around often and Higgins himself think this fight does as well as Joshua/Wlad if not a whole lot more, as he said he thinks Joshua/Parker generates 2-3 times what Joshua/Takam did.
