Quote me when i said Wilder or his team was negotiating with Eddie Hearn about the DAZN deal. I have continuously said that the deal was offered by DAZN, not Hearn. I even stated str8 up that the fight negotiations were being led by Dazn.
This is what happens when you can't read. Now that we have that out of the way, Dazn (not Hearn) offered Wilder 100 Million and negotiations were happening before Wilder was scheduled to fight Breazeale on showtime, and Wilder declined, and fought Breazeale for significantly less money. That being said Hearn and Joshua were signed with DAZN so if Wilder signed the contract, they could too. The lucrative offer was to make signing Wilder easier than last time. And Hearn and Joshua were aware. It wasn't Joshua and Hearn that turned down the offer, it was Wilder

'Wilder rejecting this deal shows what he is thinking. Luckily the boxing fans today are smart enough to see that he doesn’t want to get in the ring with Anthony Joshua"

DAZN signed Canelo around that time.

DAZN signed Golovkin around that time.

DAZN tried to sign Wilder. But he declined.

The fighters were negotiating with the network chairman. I don't know why you can't grasp that.

I don't know why you think NOT signing with DAZN stopped Wilder and Joshua from unifiying. Andy Ruiz didn't sign with DAZN and knocked out Joshua just fine right after that.

Signing with DAZN didn't mean Canelo and Golovkin were signing to fight each other - even though everyone thought they would.

Probably a good thing Wilder didn't sign the deal. Once Joshua lost, Wilder could've gotten $30 million or more to fight anyone.

I doubt he'd have fought anyone as tough as Luis Ortiz before the Fury rematch.

All Joshua had to do was win against Andy Ruiz, and he could've unified against Wilder. Just like all he had to do was beat Usyk, and he could've unified against Fury. And Fury wouldn't have had to sign a deal with DAZN, either.

declined for what ? 100 million dollars and he declined. Explain what he declined for. Why didn't he sign the deal, because Wilder was bragging about how he could have but fought Fury for less because he wanted to "honor the rematch" (LOL) even though a fight with Joshua would have been bigger at the time and he would have made so much more money. But too bad he ducked. If he really fancied the Joshua fight why didn't he just sign to fight Joshua and then have plans to fight Fury after that ?

I can actually, I've said numerous times that DAZN offered Wilder the deal and Wilder negotiated with DAZN. I never once said Wilder was negotiating with Hearn about the 100 million dollar offer. But that's a moot point because both Hearn and Joshua are signed with DAZN and could have signed the contract provided Wilder signed.
Because Andy Ruiz wasn't offered 100 million by Hearn. DAZN can offer that money.

    Keep grasping.
Wilder was signing a 3 fight deal which included Joshua because Joshua was signed with the network. And Canelo wanted out after signing. Joshua would not do this. Wilder would be more likely to do this.

Also Canelo and GGG didn't sign a deal which directly included a fight for GGG/Canelo. The deal was a multi fight deal and not directly a canelo/ggg fight. They negotiated afterwards. Still Nonsensical because Joshua/Wilder and the GGG/Canelo occurrences are different events and have different circumstances.
Still doesn't change the fact that he turned down the offer for no logical reasoning at the time. He wasn't aware of Joshua even fighting Ruiz so it holds no merit to continue using the argument.

Markus, for the 100th time, Wilder didn't need to sign the deal to fight Joshua.

Nobody had to sign a multi-fight deal with DAZN to fight Joshua. No one has.

    NO ONE.

And even if Wilder HAD signed with DAZN and agreed to fight Joshua twice after beating Breazeale ...

To do that ... Joshua would also need to win his fight against Miller/Ruiz or whomever they put in there before fighting Wilder twice.

    But Joshua LOST to Ruiz.

    Joshua LOST.

Because he lost, even if Wilder had signed, Joshua isn't going to fight Wilder after getting dropped four times and quitting against Ruiz. He immediately activated his rematch clause with Ruiz.

Wilder beat Breazeale. Wilder did his part. Joshua DIDN'T do his part. He lost.

Do I need to repeat that? JOSHUA LOST.

Wilder signs with DAZN, Joshua loses to Ruiz. Wilder doesn't sign with DAZN, Joshua loses to Ruiz.

Either way, Joshua LOSES to Ruiz.

Do I need to keep repeating that? Because you seem to leave that part out when talking about this DAZN deal.

The "Wilder vs. Breazeale vs. Joshua vs. Joshua again" DAZN deal doesn't work if Joshua is losing fights to other guys and activing rematch clauses on the other side.

It doesn't matter if it doesn't make sense to you that Wilder didn't sign a deal with DAZN. Because once Joshua lost to Ruiz, we weren't going to see Wilder vs. Breazeale, and then Wilder vs. Joshua and Joshua (again) anyway.

We don't get it because JOSHUA LOST to Ruiz.

Just like if Joshua DIDN'T LOSE to USYK, Joshua would be fighting Fury next.

Joshua didn't fight Wilder and Joshua didn't fight Fury because JOSHUA LOST the fights before he was supposed to meet both.

They (Fury and Wilder) beat who they were supposed to beat to make a Joshua unification fight.

    Joshua lost.

Joshua is the guy who dropped the ball BOTH times.

Yeah, I'm not sure what people's beef with him is. I think he did excellent given his opportunities. He kept a busy schedule, put on exciting fights, and kept getting the best opponents available. He is just short of the ATG's, but he still has had a great run and can potentially do more. As much as I like Fury and Usyk, they don't have ATG resumes at heavyweight either. Maybe I just like boxing and boxers in general and know it's pretty hard to get to ATG status, that I am overall happy with boxers who challenge themselves and rate them based on categories. What Joshua accomplished is no small feat for any boxer.

A little bit of it goes back to the Olympics, when there were people who did not feel he earned his medal. Some don't like his personality. I appreciate the guy because, when Fury disappeared, Usyk was not ready yet, and Wilder was stinking things up, Joshua held the division together. That was his era, and no one can take it way from him.

    Nonsense.

The only constant in the division from 2015 to 2020 was Deontay Wilder. Wilder made 10 successful WBC title defenses, including one over Fury.

On the other side, the belts were changing hands more times than they did in the 80s with Page, Weaver, Tate, Dokes, etc.

The five years Wilder was the WBC champ, the other belts changed hands EIGHT TIMES (in just five years).

While Wilder was champ, Wlad lost to Fury. Fury was stripped and then Martin beat Glazkov. Then Martin lost to Joshua. Then Fury was stripped again and Parker beat Ruiz. Then Fury was stripped again and Wlad and Joshua fought. Then Parker lost to Joshua. Then Ruiz beat Joshua. Then Joshua beat Ruiz.

Joshua didn't hold anything together. They were all playing musical chairs.

Wilder was the one constant. He was the longtime champ. He successfully defended against Fury. Wilder's second defense against Fury restarted the Lineal chain after Fury retired.

Wilder made as many successful WBC title defenses in those five years than all those guys did in the same timeframe combined.

None of them could hold on to anything.

Yawn, I'm assuming I fal, under the banner of "hater", but I don't think I hate on anybody, I just give my version of reality.

(do not look at my avatar)

Anyway, AJ got beat up by a little obese man and outboxed and beaten up by a career crusierweight, it's not hate, it's facts, I think AJ fanboys need to come to terms with the fact AJ is not what they believed he was, he is a good heavyweight in a poor era.

But that isn't what this thread is about. This thread is about the fact that he fought the best he could get in front of him.

You are not a hater for thinking that he isn't that good (I disagree). But surely you will admit he too the best fights he could?

Wilder defended twice against the current World Champ, defended twice against Ortiz (who was rated higher both times than Pulev, Usyk, Martin, Breazeale, Ruiz and Takam where when Joshua fought them). Defended against two guys who KOed the current WBA mandatory Helenius. Defended against two guys Joshua defended against.

If Wilder's defenses were garbage, Joshua doesn't have much of anything to hang his hat on.

He only defended against Fury because he thought he would be shot from alcoholism, cocaine use, and gaining/losing ,massive amounts of weight. It backfired on him.

Ortiz is an old man with high blood pressure who is no good without PEDS. Even with them, his record is unimpressive.

    All the other suck.

He could've fought Fury, but he lost to a huge underdog Usyk the fight before Fury. He could've fought Wilder, but lost to a huge underdog Ruiz the fight before Wilder. He could've fought Ortiz at any point during his entire two reigns, as Ortiz was rated above practically everyone he faced during that time. Could've fought Whyte at any point during his entire two reigns, as he was rated above practically everyone he faced during that time, as well. That's why Whyte signed with Hearn to begin with. Hell, he could've fought the undefeated Washington or Arreola (instead of Molina) in 2016.

You can't honestly say Joshua fought the best when he didn't defend against Fury, Wilder, Ortiz and Whyte ... four guys rated above basically everyone Joshua defended his titles against during both of his reigns.

Loses happen in boxing. It isn't what we are talking about. Joshua has fought the best he can get his hands on, and Wilder fights sick fat and old guys.
