So long story short it’s seems Eddie Hearn is trying to make the Wilder vs Whyte fight prior to any fight with Joshua. Di Bella and or Wilder are not keen and dismissing the idea. Being British I personally feel it makes perfect sense, Whyte isn’t the best in the division but he is certainly a name and a good live opponent plus it would undoubtably set up a logical fight for the winner to face a unification with Joshua. BUT I can’t help but think the strategy just isn’t going to work and I can’t see Hearn forcing the fight for Whyte unless it’s a mandatory and who knows how long the WBC will drag out for that to happen. In the end regardless of who Wilder fights in the meantime Joshua and Hearn will eventually have to cave in to their own pressure of setting the unification. Even if they fight Parker first all the talk of “ Wilder hasn’t fought anyone” (as true as it might be) wont mean anything eventually if Joshua and Wilder keep winning they will have to make it.
Whyte is going to become the mandatory should he win and if Ortiz is suspended which i think he is. Stiverne will be out of the top 10 with a loss and Ruiz Jr.has about 5 months or so to fight or hes out of the rankings entirley and that leaves .... 1.Whyte 2.Breazeale 3.Miller If all should win their next fights and boxing actually uses correct rankings moving everyone up.
I would like to see Wilder fight Miller out of that list. Miller has personality, very strong pressure fighter, could give Wilder problems even beat him. Yes, that is the best fight out of that bunch.
Yeah, agreed but that’s relying on the WBC enforcing the mandatory look how long it’s taken for the last one to be sorted out. He will fight Breazele, maybe Miller but I can see him signed with Hearn and HBO so that could be a problem. I just think he will keep banging the drum of The Joshua fight and will eventually get it with out having to face anyone of real note
Well Washington was dropped back to the 25th ranked guy or so after his loss? I dont agree with that criteria it really dont make sense, you lose to the champion and you get punished for it? this is why guys dont fight each other...lol in Stivernes case he shouldnt be in the top in the first place so..........................
I want to see the Joshua vs Wilder fight more than most, and sooner than most. It will be far better for Joshua's resume if Wilder has two good wins on his resume. I don't want people to say Wilder was a paper champion bum, when Joshua KO's him when they fight. Which is exactly what will happen if Wilder does not get another good name on his resume. Wilder has not fought a good opponent for what will be three long years by the time his next fight comes around. People have already forgot Wilder was the underdog against Stiverne.
Its not so much the Whyte fight happening but Whyte has to get shifted at number 1 by the rules sooner than later if he wins. This in turn makes Dibella look like a dope because he then has to retract his statements that whyte is not relevant. He is and his ranking as a top 5 guy in the WBC shows this.
Bro AJ only has 1 name a 40yr old Wlad gtfo here with that Wilder hasn’t fought anyone cause neither has AJ
You're a very silly man. Wlad is a legend and second best heavyweight when Joshua fought him. Joshua also has two other current top ten heavyweights on his resume. Who were undefeated prospects when he beat them. Very silly man indeed.
Whyte is very beatable for Wilder and would raises his profile immensely while also getting him a great payday. There's absolutely zero reason for this not to happen.
Joshua > Takam > Parker > Wilder Wilder > Stiverne > Whyte > Joshua All roads lead to a summer unification at Wembley. Wilder needs the Whyte fight. Massive payday. Rematch clause if he loses. Career high pay day that sets him up for an even bigger career high pay day which would just be phenomenal. 90k at Wembley. Box office numbers in US and UK. It would be an unbelievable spectacle and someone would be walking away with all the belts. Make it happen Eddie.
