I think the UK is ahead of the USA in up-and-coming HWs. Right now, two UK heavyweights are ahead of any USA heavyweights in the Ring rankings: Haye and Fury. The USA has more pro heavyweights than the UK or any other country on earth (with 404 according to BoxRec while the UK has only 34) because of the bigger population and the existence of far more boxing gyms in American cities. But as far as quality and talent go, the UK is ahead now in the HW division. What do you think?
Joshua was very impressive today: rapid stiff jab, fast accurate combinations, good footwork. He may be the best of the lot. What do you think?
Goes like this IMO Tyson Fury Bryant Jennings Deontay Wilder Anthony Joshua Hughie Fury Dominic Breazeale
I've seen no evidence yet that either is "chinny". One knockdown by Sconiers doesn't make Wilder chinny, anybody can get knocked down.
Breazeale is the worst out of the bunch and the worst olympic boxer I have ever witnessed, EVER. He was only in the olympics because your number one heavyweight tested positive for steroids.
What about the fact that he got put over by some 300lbs part time eating contest winner? Or getting knocked spark out by cruiserweights with headgear on and bigger gloves?
I agree....... Not a fan by any means, but this kid seems to have what it takes in the pros. Cant remember him being hurt badly in the AMs, but Im sure there's footage somewhere. Anyways, he does seem to have one heckuva jab, and a nice cross too. Tyson Fury is by faaaaaaarrrr the most accomplished HW of the six in question, with Jennings and Wilder a distant 2 and 3. Huey seems to be moving quickly, fighting often, but he doesnt seem much better after 10 fights, but he is only 19 and does seem to take a decent shot......so we'll see. As for Brazeale......I think he's moving fairly well. But he is 28 y/o, and probably needs to move a little quicker and step up his LOC, sooner than the others.:think
Yes, I'd say Breazeale is the worst of the six and Joshua is the best. Wilder I'm not sure about, he might or might not be the best. I'd like to see him in with someone decent like Kevin Johnson, Tony Thompson or Manuel Charr, then I could better evaluate him.
How the **** is Anthony Joshua even being discussed here? The kid was gifted a gold medal and is now on the same old Brit hype cycle that we've seen a million times before. His power looks mediocre for a man his size also. Personally I see hype-job written all over him. Some people will never learn.
It's about quality not quantity and Britain's boxing clubs/gyms are second to none, take the British Olympic boxing gym widely considered the best gym in the world for boxing and the coaches are the best as well. Britain is the best at getting young talent through, check the list of gold medallists at the 2012 London Olympics, Britain won the medal table for boxing.
