That was a hell of a great fight, congrats to both guys. Joshua reminds me of half George Foreman and half Frank Bruno, except he's not a vicious of Foreman or as classy as Bruno... And I'm not sure that's good.
He was tired because he was going for the knockout. He regrouped and showed excellent boxing skills before closing the show in the 7th. Fury could never knock him out. Ali was a small weak man, he would get overwhelmed by the big guys of today.
I have a feeling White will have longer career than Joshua. White was very good. Looked so natural and skillful fighter.. Commentators were so bias that they almost ruined the fight.
i think whytes chin will be the worst of him. he took a pounding and should have gone down earlier should have clinched should have run. Taking shots that hard is not good. and i wouldnt want him seeing to many fights taking that sort of hits before that chin goes for good
I wouldn't put him at that status yet. He looked good in parts but showed vulnerabilities. I likes that he didn't let Whyte's success effect him too much and was still determined but he looks fundamentally clunky, a slick boxer would take him apart but luckily there are not many!
Yeah I can see that. Anyway, I agree with the OP. I like Joshua's mentality, cool, calm and collected but comes to fight and cause destruction. He seems to have a good attitude towards training, learning and improving too.
It's strange how anybody could look at this fight and think Joshua is destined for the top spot. Both men looked poor and were knackered after a couple rounds. Joshua was there for the taking in the 2nd, if Whyte had a little more composure he would've taken him out. This fight confirmed the suspicions I had about Joshua coming in. This guy isn't the dominant long reigning champ you all are hoping he'll be.
Hmm people said the same about Lennox after McCall knocked him out or Wlad after he was annihilated by Sanders. I think the jury is still out on AJ.
