Joshua is back in action on 4/4 vrs TBA

He's fighting jason gavern.
I doubt he'll last past 3 rounds.

 

Yeah just seen it's Gavern.

Ticking over fight for AJ and putting it into perspective, he's fighting him with 10 fights under his belt compared to Wilder who was 31-0 !

This is a decent enough fight at short notice, Gavern will at least come to fight. It'll be a totally different fight to the Johnson fight as well.

 

Gavern is a fourth-rate opponent at his best, and probably got the call 8 or 9 days before when the fight is due, I'm guessing he has to fly in from America too. That's how he makes his living I guess.
This is what's wrong with boxing. Obviously a mismatch, one guy set up to lose to another, you wouldn't even give him a 10% chance of winning. People talking about Joshua like he's a future champion or a contender, but he's being given these kinds of fights.
But then he might go another 25 "fights" like this.

 

I would rate his chances of winning at 0% mate.

 

I like AJ and do accept is it hard to match him but this can't really be justified.

 

Zavarotni would be ideal. I don't see why people are getting on Joshua's back, he's has 10 fights. Look at AJ's first 10 fights and compare them to Wlads first 10, AJ's are better. Give him time.

 

Is Zavarotni injured? Or just expensive? I think Gavern is fine so long as Joshua is busy.

 

I don't know mate, I think Gavern is an acceptable tune up fight, and the Kevin Johnson fight could answer some questions if he is taken into the later rounds. People seem to forget that heavyweights for the most part, mature later.

 

I was sticking up for Fast Car last year when Joshua v Sprott was announced - how wrong was I! 60 seconds and the fight was done and dusted. I would be surprised if Jason 'Woooo' Gavern hears an end of round bell. I can see the logic with the 'previously unstopped' Kevin Johnson but the Gavern fight is all about showcasing Joshua as a fighter in the North East. Gone in 60 seconds!

 

I dont think the Johnson fight happens. I think it will keep getting pushed back in the hope Johnson gets an offer elsewhere.

 

Jesus, it's his first fight back from an injury and clearly a tune-up. The Johnson fight is supposed to be the progression fight.
